Oh my Racewieght doors are completely gutted. I took 53 pounds out of each door! LOL I have plastic windows that were either down or I could attach them up. I didn't have any Regulators or anything. I've got doors I'm about to put on that have the regular windows and Regulators like normal. This is basically my point of the total reconfiguration, but also the point of being able to want to drive it more and go to the track more and the reason it's here in the Race part as a reconfiguration. I'm tired of all that crap! I just want to jump in Click the seatbelt start it and go to the track roll down the windows and put my elbow out the window.

I got all the wires hooked up in the motor compartment and brought back inside the car. The electric fans and the fuel pump aren't in yet but I ran those wires and Dead End them in their respective areas. Also dead-end a wire going out on the driver side with the light harness for the line lock. Pretty much just ran brand new wires to everything.
Now I got to finish whipping this Dash into condition which mostly consists of getting that switchboard mounted in the heater slider bezel.

I got the dash back in the car and for the first time I have on the car it has a dash pad! That damn Dash pads been sitting on a shelf for 3 years! Didn't need that for drag racing... But I do know.

Had to work for a couple days and had to play today! I'm going to try and get back on that wiring and get that buttoned up tomorrow. It was a beautiful day on the Timothy Lake Dam today.

Snow is a four letter word. Fun is three letters. So, you didn't have fun today.
Well what I almost had was a heart attack when I grabbed my wife's sled! So this was the only time this year we actually were able to ride them because I've been so busy with that stupid truck. But anyways I usually grab hers from her just for a few miles to "really open it up!" Well I'll be damned if that damn thing didn't just grab traction and instead of throwing up big old rooster of snow up in the air! And I just jumped off my sled and hers is 9 inches shorter than mine!
(Okay in a body Mopar terms that's like us moving our rear axle 9 inch forward! Exactly! all I seen was blue sky!

What a contrast of day today. Yesterday I'm putting away the sleds and washing them with no shirt on it was so nice and sunny and today it's pouring cats and dogs LOL. Well I'm going to light a fire in the fireplace for my wife and heading to the garage and do the wiring. I can't think of a better thing to do on a day like this...
Who knows if I get really inspired after I get done getting the dashboard all together I'll completely wire figure out a bracket and hook up that two step today also. Right now it's just laying in a heap in a box separate from all this other wiring.

Stupid question from a stupid individual, lol. But what is this two step we keep throwing around? is for NITRO?

An RPM programmable switch. So that you can stage, hit your button and the engine will only go to x number of RPM. Soon as you let off it revs up to the next level of rpm.

Did you use that stupid truck to haul the snowmobiles?

Did you use that stupid truck to haul the snowmobiles?
No I still got to finish doing some work to that truck before I start using it for a long hauls. I still need to take the front axles off and put new U joints in them. I'd like to pop the rear differential off to make sure that's all cleaned out and fine. But now I got to finish this car first.

Probably he did. Waste of a good truck making it haul those junky snowmobiles. I feel bad for the truck.
It's a Sno - Commander! It loves the snow snow snow snow snow snow we love snow always love the snow snow snow snow....

Okay back to the subject at hand here I worked on it all day long. I got everything hooked up except for... wait for it....... THAT DAMN TWO STEP!
That also includes a couple wires for the tachometer also. I don't have the 6 Al plugged in or mounted but all the wires are ran for it just to click in the box.

No dancing around with the two step. that's YR's song and dance

I think it has been found that the installation of a two step is a constipating matter.
It's actually all connected...
I just have to connect it LOL I mean the button and everything is there I just need to I think I'm going to attach it to the pedal it's self, so when I stand on the pedal a certain way my foot presses the button? It will likely be hooked up long before noon I was actually starting on it when I finally gave up today.

Good gravy man that was your excuse for the last 2 years not to race me! What will it be this year?

No grasshopper, my mother in law has been fighting cancer since May of 2016. That has taken huge amounts of my time and even more from my wife. Before that, in July 2015 I had a cousin who was 4 days from turning 49 drop dead. He had a widow maker. Had one kid just out of college, one in college, one ready to start college and two in HS. I was told he was a regional manager for Target, but at the funeral they said he was the food/dairy Vice President which meant he was over all that. It was barely making money when took it over. He turned a very big profit with it. There were three other VP's for other parts of Target. One of those four guys would be the next president of Target, or what ever that title was...CEO maybe...I forget the nomenclature. Pretty sad really.

Less than two weeks later my 63 year old buddy in New Mexico had a heart attack and died. I went down to the ABQ to help his wife sell his race car and trailer and all the crap. Then his wife was going to buy a travel trailer and a truck to pull it with and come live on our property in the spring and summer, the snowbird to either Vegas or Phoenix with her kids. By Christmas of 2015 she had the truck and trailer. She wasn't sure how to drive them. So I said when the snow stops flying I'll fly down there, help load up your stuff and bring you back and teach you how to hook and unhook the truck, how to back up correctly and all that crap. I'd drive the tough parts of the drive and let her do the rest.

On May 7th 2016 the wife and I called her and said the weather is good, let's do this. So we picked the first Sunday in June to fly down to the ABQ and bring her back. We set aside 10 days total for the trip so we could stop and see all the cool sights there are on that drive. My wife, son and I were going to fly down and make it a vacation becuase Carolyn raised 2 kids that were like her grand kids from their birth. A boy and girl. The boy was 12 and the girl was 8.

So we don't here from her and it's Wednesday. I told the wife to call her and see what's going on, as we need to confirm our schedule. My wife called her on Thursday at about 11:15 am. Carolyn was on the phone with another friend and they were planning to take the kids to the zoo the next day. The other gal had three kids. Carolyn let my wife's call go to voice mail. Within 3 minutes, the 12 year old boy walked up behind his grandmother (she was outside on the patio on the phone) and he walked up and shot Carolyn right smack in the back of the head.

The paramedics didn't see an exit or entry wound so they though she had a stroke, fell forward and busted up her nose and bled out.

The facts were the boy used a .22 pistol. The angle he shot at was uphill. He was slightly lower than her. The bullett entered just under her skull cap, evidently at the perfect angle so he hair covered up the hole. There was no exit would as the bullet basically bounced around her brain cavity and essentially scrambled her brain. She was dead when she hit the ground.

The boy was put into a juvenile home. Last I heard he hasn't spoken a word since they read him his rights and he said he wanted a lawyer. Not a single word. He may get out at 16, we are hoping for 18. He will walk out with his record expunged. Pisses me off.

A week and a half later we found out the M.I.L. had cancer. She just finished up the last of the chemo right after the first of the year so things are getting better.

Hopefully 2018 goes along a lot smoother than 2015-2017. Maybe we can get back to our normal at least.

you know there's no argument for tragedy like that and obviously my heart goes out to your family. On my own home front I'll hope that my wife's surgery this Tuesday one of at least 14 in the last 2 years will go just fine like the others.
There's no way you're going to convince me in the last 2 years you've been able to post over 10,000 comments on this forum and haven't found the time to at least hook up the two-step that's in your garage. I'm going to hook up mine this morning- Lord willing....

All right I said F this J par be a man of action and quit talking crapola! So I went right out to the garage in my jammies and established a comfortable position to commence operation "two step or die!"

Well of all the wiring this has probably been one of the more stressful things because I've drilled holes in my floorboard before to put it on the floor next to the clutch. I've attached it to my steering wheel with the long squiggly cord trying to let it go with my finger and that didn't work. So I knew this was going to be a real head-scratcher today but I need to get it figured out!
SOME BEACH! I butted the control button against the back of the clutch pedal and put a zip tie around it and I'll be dipped in poop! That damn thing is good to go!
FYI Two Step installation takes about 7 seconds! LOL
