Pam's Jamaican Blue Baby

Thanks guys....

The egg crate wont plate well so I am going to powder coat them silver I guess.

Didn't get much done last few days cause I have been side-tracked yet again by my kids.

They demanded that I build them a tree house....I hate working with wood.:angry7:

So I have been hacking away at it and I almost have a floor on it....It's sturdy enough just not square. :sad9: Were using mostly recycled wood but I sprung for the main supports and the floor.

Anyway I will get back to work on it soon enough. For now it's back to the tree for me. :munky2:
I'll send some pics later.

So...week later and between rain storms and wind storms and hail storms I managed to get it up enough to declare it safe enough to play in.

Need to finish the sides with some old pallet lumber and install the zip line and construction barrier fence and were done.

Enjoy...I'm going back out to sit in it and have a beer. :-D

I am out of Pam's car for now and into my kids danger.....can I make it more?

Mop

Errrrr....

Lots of tree house work still.

Not so much on car.....

No cruises or shows either.....

All kids right now.

:angel4:

FOTY

so how's the tree house coming along? after reading the upgrades that you will be throwing at it, i'm sure some other members here will agree, i want to see pictures of that thing when it is done.

Well.....I have phase one completed. It is way to hot to do anything outside right now. So I am content....or the kids are with what I have accomplished so far.

In a couple months I will get back to it and put the second story on.

Here is a few shots of Phase one.......by the way the zip line is a blast...little sketchy getting on at 14' above the ground from a small platform but I got over my fear and tried it.

The kids have no fear.

Oh yea...the 69 vert is in the trailer for now. I am still working on it small piece at a time. The dash and bezels will be the next assembly to get finished. Will post it later.

Yes it's something else to see 8-10 kids climbing all over that poor tree.

I like the idea that its challenging to climb.

I tried the cargo net and I promise you it's a lot harder to climb than it looks.

I can't wait to get to the second story....I have a couple of dangerous ideas left in my head.......like a net to jump into.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap net 20' x 20'.....needs to be able to handle a 200lb load dropped from 20'. :sign6:

Ok.....weather is getting better so I dragged the vert out of the trailer and back into the garage.

Started back on the front end and boxed the LCA's. I have some new spot weld drills coming so I can get back to finishing the engine bay. I am getting sidetracked as usual with family and weekend cruises/shows but I am trying to do one little thing a day.

Here is the latest.

mop,
Did you buy or make the plates to box in the LCAs? I have been kicking around the idea of boxing mine. If you did your own, care to share your plans? Thanks. L8r

Jim

Yes I did purchase them. $20-25.00...in that range.

You could do the same with short pieces like a ladder...go around the front as well. It wont look as pretty but then who is laying on the ground looking at the bottom of the LCA anyway?

Cooler weather and I am more motivated than ever....been hitting the rust hard....and the beer. I am removing the rust and replaceing it with patches and Demon parts....thankfully I kept the entire clip and have been able to scavenge lots of sheet metal from it. I am trying to finish up the repairs so I can get the inner wells back on. Lots of work to do to the shock towers so I bought some 14 ga. sheet metal and started making some patches to repair those areas.

Getting better at sheet metal repairs and welding every day:blob:.
Enjoy the pics.

Errrrr thanks. Although I already have them installed as shown a few posts up.

You may want to contact the member that asked me if I made mine though.

G'day mate.

Mop it is looking good. Very familiar what you are doing and it is a time consuming task. Keep it up and Pam will be a happy camper.

Pam will be a happy lady for sure as I am trying to get it done for spring now.

I worked on it some more tonight and attacked the rusty shock tower braces. I cut out all the bad stuff then made a bridge to reconnect it. Then I made another brace and welded that over the whole thing.....super beefy now. :banghead:

I have been using some product that I gotta rave about....Eastwood rust encapsulator. Stuff is like nails and it drys fast. Worked great to paint the back sides of the patches before I welded them on. Drys fast too.

Enjoy the pics.

Yes...I have one if the inner fender wells installed and the other is close to being ready to install. Got pulled off as usual but now that its cold out I will be back on it. Lots of little patches were cut and welded in to fill small rust holes.

Probably would have been easier to buy some new inners but I wanted to see if I could repair what I had.

I have some photos coming.....soon.

Thanks for the inquiry.

OK I'm done with metal work and ready to slick up the engine bay with some filler.

I am going to test hang the fenders this weekend then if all is OK keep on going.

Few pics for your enjoyment.

When our done will you come and finish mine??
Looking good. Your making me feel bad for being a slacker.
I have been playing more with the drive train and rebuilding the heater/ac box than doing the metal work. Still can't find much time to spend on it though so it is taking forever.

Thanks

Gonna turn the car around and get to the back end...get the gas tank out and clean it all up.....getting closer.

SO I switched gears for a minute...Chrome man called me and had my tail light bezels ready. So here is some detail work of them and the tail panel I am also working on. Had to strip it so I can repaired the dings and buff it out.

Waiting on Confusedcuda to get back in town so we can drop the rear end/springs out then I can get under there and attack the balance of the rust.

Enjoy,

Mop
