My 1965 Barracuda, bought August 1968 for $1150. Originally Commando 273, 4-speed, rallye suspension, 7 1/4 rear with 3.23 gears, 13 inch wheels, white with black racing stripe and black interior. Blew up the original motor November 1972 right before my ship left for Viet Nam; 340 since spring of 1973. Present short block is 71 block and crank, blueprinted stock rods, TRW forged pistons, put together in 1990. Now with Eddy heads, RPM Air gap, 750 Holley, TTI headers and 2.5 inch X-pipe exhaust, 8 3/4 rear with 3.23 sure grip, replaced original ball and trunion 4-speed with 69 Dart trans but kept my original 3.09 low-gear gearset, 15 x 7 Cragars with 225/60R 15 Comp T/A's, painted Guards Red single stage urethane by me 1991. Mileage is somewhere on the high side of 300,000.

The white one is the 65 Barracuda I grew up in that made me fall in love with cars. Commando 273 4 speed.

The black primer is mine I bought in 1979 for parts but realized it wasn't a bad car and put it together with the engine out of my Dad's car. I sold that car in 1981 for $400 the guy still owns it till this day.

Here's a couple more from the family photo album. Not sure but I think the dart in the background was my Uncle's "d" dart 273 commando 4 speed.

First picture is when I trailered it home full of parts in December 2018. It looked like crap, but it's a rust-free Texas car. the second & third pictures are from a few days ago.....almost finished!
I'll be looking to sell....losing my storage.

@RON REAGLE I love the way your Barracuda sits! What leaf springs do you have in the rear? Most Barracudas are *** draggers....lol. I'm one of those weird people who typically doesn't like wrong year colors on cars, but the FJ5 looks awesome on your car. My 65 Barracuda is supposed to be the Baby Blue color, and I just can't bring myself to put it back that color. I promise I won't copy you though....lol.

Whoever built this car used a lot of nice parts on it. I didn't build it I'm just putting my touch on it. There are standard looking springs and best of all standard shocks as well. I recently bought Billlstein shocks for all 4 corners but haven't installed the rears yet. I wasn't crazy about the color when I first found the car but my opinion has changed. I LOVE IT!!!

By the way go to YOUTUBE and type in 1965 Barracuda My car was on there 8 years ago for sale when the guy I bought it off of found it.

Go ahead and paint yours FJ5 it's not like we're neighbors!!! I'd like to see it when it's done!

That looks amazing. Details and more pics please.
Thanks! I like yours too! Details on mine: Aluminum 433 c.i. 3rd gen Hemi with Hilborn injection, dry sump oil system, Tremec 6-speed with PPG sequential shift conversion, full frame with cage, independent rear suspension with Hammerhead center section and differential cooler, Detroit Speed Alumaframe front suspension, Alcon brakes, Viking active shock control, Haltech controller to integrate engine, transmission, traction control, etc. It's set up for road racing, but will see consistent street duty, with Vintage Air and sound system. I might even add a cupholder. Of course, you already know about the hood.
