Small block 408.
Edelbrock heads
.683/.658 lift. 1.65 rocker arms
1 7/8 TTI headers
Jerico 4 speed
8 3/4 3.91
Caltrac/mono springs
27" QTP Hoosier
3540 with me in it.
10.68 125 mph 1.54 60 ft
Street car

The 1.65 rockers are by whom?
Edelbrock heads, LA or Magnum, what work has been done to them?
Cam by whom?
What intake?

Thanks

I never ran mine in the quarter but it's should've ran in the 10s without breathing hard. Pump 93 408, 10.9-1, Hughes flat solid 260/264 @ .050, .628/.633 with Hughes 1.6 rockers, Diamond dish pistons, Compstar 6.125" 2.1" main rods, K-1 4" steel crank, Edelbrock heads ported by Curtis Boggs, 2.05"/1.60" valves, port matched Victor 340 intake and a biggs 950HP. 727, CRT manual reverse LBA valve body, 9.5" Edge Racing converter that flashed 5000, Strange S60 with 4.10s and a spool, Cal-Tracs, mono leaf springs, Rancho 9 way shocks, 325 60 MT ET Street Radials.

It ran 6.57 @ 108 something with a 1.38 60', 6.70 with a 1.40 60' in street trim in a 3260# (with my 180#) 69 Dart. I drove it neverywhere with no issues.

LA edelbrock performer heads. Ported pretty much as far as we could . About 72cc combustion chamber. I will have to go back to the shop to find the flow on what the heads actually flowed at. I didn't get a print out of it from them. 2.08 intake valves. 1.60exhaust. Ported matched a victor intake to the heads. Custom ground cam by IMM. .683 / .657 lift. 260/266 duration. Lobe separation at 112 deg. T&D 1.65:1 rocker arms. I can't take credit for this build and all it's complicated parts. I read a car craft magazine that did a real good article on IMM engines and the mean little small block they built. We tried to keep it as close to their numbers as possible to keep it on pump gas. Although we did run into some problems around the lifter oil gallery. There was so much lift that it was bypassing oil to pan on some of the lifters. Had to machine out the block, re sleeve and change the lifter oil gallery to get full oil to the mains. It's a good thing we have a real good builder in my area to build this thing and figure out why oil pressure dropped on the dyno.

you got it trucking that's for sure
brain is helping with my 408 close to your setup but with his iron head

If I could go back in time with more budget I'd get some Indy heads.. But it was not a cheap build as it was. .. The eddies worked out just fine for me.

car craft have pulled me in as well but I had been watching imm engines and there head work for awhile and yes even with the iron indy heads this build is adding up very quickly, but yea i still kinda wish I would have spent the money on the "big heads" , do you drive yours much ? do you mind posting a pic of the engine bay

No problem. I'll send a couple ..finding it hard to send more than one picture in a single message though. I haven't figured it out on here yet

I don't drive mine a whole lot on the street. , It really hates 2-3000 rpm. Really clunky with the Jerico. But I do go for the odd Cruze to town and back a few times a year just for fun. Also. It's risky street driving with my clutch set up...it's got low base pressure for race so I generally just keep it that way.. Can still drive it on the street , Ijust can't put my foot into it right from rolling slow unless I hit the clutch and let it rip at 5000. Rather save on maintenance.

Update on the last race of the year at Grove Creek in MN.

Here are our two best times with no changes except better air at a density altitude of 1,151 ft.

60 ft 1.423 1.401
330 ft 4.238 4.164
660ft 6.530 6.530
mph 105.37 105.23

These 60 ft times were on SS springs and a snubber and 10.5X28.5 bias ply slicks, and a 8 3/4 rear with 4.56 gears and a 4500 stall converter leaving on the footbrake at 1600 RPM. I'm happy to see the old school stuff still works and a 8 3/4 housing can take it as well.

As far as the track goes, we had a low car count so the track started eliminations 1 hr before the scheduled race time and cut time trials short. Cars were still coming in the gate when eliminations started. POed a lot of people, but the presumption is they wanted to close early in order to save on payroll. Makes you not want to support the track when they treat the racers this way. Too bad because it was a wonderful day for racing, low 60s low humidity, and sunny.

ICELAND?!?! Wow! Welcome aboard. I see you got that running really well, knocking on the 9 second door. You'll have to move your build over to the 9 second thread soon!
Well done!

Per a request from the Famous Rumblefish above!

Here is my 10.60's / 10.70's dart.
started as a 74 6 cyl. desert storm tan. Now as appears in my sig.

Block is actually a stock cast early 70's 360 block. not an R block.
Heads are heavily...heavily ported "super commando's" from mopar. (the new ones you can't find rockers for...and cost way too much money, and they don't tell you they are meant for a 4.125 bore...yeah those :) )
they flowed 290 CFM.
harland sharp 1.6 rockers
custom solid roller cam
.7XX lift both ways
super victor
850 carb (too small)
eagle forged rotating assembly 408 cid
12.3:1 icon pistons
8 inch ATI converter
true 10.5 slicks. only 26 tall
3.91 gears. stock suregrip...lol
8.75
727
fmvb
full interior with an 8 point cage
frame ties
fuel cell
hdk/wilwoods

Footbraking it runs 10.60's/70's 1.4X 60's 124/125 mph.

any questions let me know! kinda proud of it for a smallblock! ha

Sometimes I let my friend "Bill"
drive the Dart> as is this video.

this pass was 10.79 I believe the mph was around 125 by the end of the night were at 10.69 127

10.0 is my goal and well within reach at a lower elevation track.

Car weighs 3600 with driver full interior with stereo. street driven. sneaky full exhaust. 416 with Indy heads. 1050 quik-fuel 456's with a 5500 loose converter.
