Post your 12 second small block combos

They also have banjo rears. Nice and light!

1st visit to the track with the Dart today.

Setup was sold to me as a 360 with flat top pistons, 509 purple cam, and Weiand aluminum intake backed up by a Streetfighter 727. It felt strong when I bought it but I wasn't expecting the 12.98 @ 104 it ran today. Cut a 1.9 60' that I couldn't improve with 2 other tries. Time to install the plate and work on that 60'.

1973 Duster340 3200lbs with me in it
1969 340 with stock rods and crank and TRW 10.5 comp pistons .040 over
308 production heads witha 2.02 intake valve in them, non ported but have 1.5 roller rockers
Edelbrock Torker II intake with 750hp holley 2 inch spacer
1 5/8 headers with 3 in exhaust and msd dist and ignition
904 trans with Dynamic 9 1/2 convert 2800 stall
4.56 gears with 28 in tall M/T ET Streets
Fiberglass hood and front bumper, Willwood front disc brakes, front race buckets, no heater no wipers, rifle drilled axles and spool. CE front shocks amd MP long travel rears with 002/003 springs The car has gone as quick as 11.99 at 112mph but usually stays in the 12.00-12.20 range at 110-111mph.

next up a real converter and 3.91s
I run 235 60 15 drag radials.

I ran my Aussie 1974 valiant charger last wed night. 12.1 @113.57 1.85 60 ft
410 stroker 11.5 comp edelbrock heads, hughs roller cam 232@50 thou 800 edelbrock carb, air gap manifold pacemaker try why headers with 2.5 inch exhaust, 5 speed tko 600 box, 3.91 ratio 7 3/4 borg warner diff. 255 mickey Thompson drag radials. Every time I dropped the clutch at 3 grand or more it would spin all the way through first with 2.10 sixty footers and 12.6 I decided to drop the clutch at about 1500 revs which resulted in the 1.85 sixty foot and 12.1. I had the tyres at 10 pounds should they be higher? Maybe I should buy some caltracs so I can get the sixty footers down I will run in the elevens without any more horsepower?

OK, here’s my combo.
Short, sweet and to the point.

Got it down to a 12.66, with a couple of more tenths that could be removed with some more tweaking

1971 plymouth scamp, gutted.
340 block bored .20 over
Stock rotating assembly balanced
10 to 1 KB cast pistons
Iron J heads 2.02 valve, 150k miles on them with gasket match and mild porting, (done myself)
Single grind comp cam 484 lift with springs
Edelbrock airgap manifold
650 quick fuel carb
Crappy summit headers
904 trans with stage three kit, (stock)
Cal trac mono leafs with traction bars
3.91 geared 8 ¾

I had a 750 holley and ran 13.10-20. Got rid of it and put the 650 on and shaved 1/2 second off.

Here's what I'm running right now in my '70 Dart:

390 CID stroked 318 Magnum
11:1 forged pistons
Forged H-beam rods
Forged Crank
Magnum R/T heads 1.92/1.625
236/242 @ .050, .588/.588 114LSA

FlowTech ceramic headers 1-3/4" tube into 3" collector
904 trans with turbo action kit
8-3/4" rear end with 3.23 gears
SS leaf springs
QA1 rear shocks

That combo was good for 12.80's @ 105 right off the trailer. I expect to get down to 12.40-12.50 once I finish dialing it in now.

Sorry...didn't catch the part about stock stroke.

Ha, I started this thread a while back, finally get to add to it.

Now, I believe my combo should have gone faster than what it did - best was 12.20 @ 110.8 letting off before the stripe on a breakout pass. If I had run it out the back door, it probably would have gone a few ticks faster, maybe 12.1-12.0. Something was holding it back, this combo should have been easily into the 11s. The previous owner said it went a best of 11.97 but it had a 4.30 gear in it and couple different things. He said it usually went 12.0-12.2 which is where I was.

I have not had the heads off so I don't really know any particulars without taking it apart. It is coming out for a stroker though so I am basically speaking in the future past tense, if that makes sense.

Factory 340 block.

3.31" stroke, forged crank, stock rods. Pioneer balancer.

Approximately 10.5:1 C.R. - 180 psi cranking compression pistons unknown.

810 casting W2 'race' heads (no rocker pedestals) - unported with 2.08" intake valves per the previous owner. These heads usually have 68-72 cc open chambers.

Harland Sharp W2 rockers.

Mopar .557 solid cam, lash set to .026"/.028" warm.

Mopar distributor, no vacuum advance; 19-20 degrees initial, 35-36 degrees total, all in by 1,800 - 2,000 rpm.

Firecore HEI-style cap and wires.

Autolite plugs, can't recall the number, 8324 maybe?

Edelbrock Victor W2 intake, no porting.

Proform 750 double pumper. 75-85 jets, 4.5 power valve in primary only. Had various air bleeds in it, don't remember which were in it. Blue pump cams, 30cc diaphragms.

Quick fuel air bell with K&N filter top.

Carter 6270 mechanical fuel pump, regulated to 6.5 psi.

1/2" RobbMc tank pickup, 3/8" fuel lines to the pump/carb.

TTi step 1 5/8" step headers intto 3" collectors. Full 3" exhaust with balance tube, Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. It's kinda loud.

904/999 trans w. T/A FMVB, no braking in first. Low gear set, B&M Pro Ratchet shifter.

Hughes 10" street/strip converter, 3,800 stall.

4.10 gears, Mopar aluminum carrier, Auburn sure grip, Moser axles.

275/60/15 M/T drag radials set to 18 psi

Caltracs with Calvert shocks front and rear.

Offset springs.

SSBC K/H type disc brakes in front, 10 x 2" rear drums, aluminum master cylinder with Line Lock.

Battery in trunk.

3,060 lbs with a full tank of gas, 3,245 with me in it. No heater, radio etc. Lightweight bucket seats, full interior.

Car idles at 1,000-1,100, dropped to about 700 (?) in gear.

10" inches of vacuum at idle.

Shifted at 7,000 rpm, sometimes lower, sometimes higher.

Car had very little torque off the line. It needed the 4.30 gears,. the 4.10 just didn't get it done.

Again, best pass for me was 12.20 @ 110.8 with a slow 1.75 60 ft time.

Well this was in an all steel '71 Cuda in 1987

Around 3550lbs at the line?

Fel-pro h/gasket
DC .590 solid cam
Holley Strip Dominator+2" spacer
850DP
1.3/4" Hedman Chassis Headers
MSD6A
Manual 727, 4200 verter
4.30 gears, 10x28 slicks
Stock Springs+Snubber

I just got all My Problems sorted and ran a 13 flat here in New zealand at the Weekend Now Im hungry for 12 which would not be too hard , I run a 1975 Chrysler Valiant pickup or ute as we call them here ,

360 fully balanced stock crank , 30 over forged pistons 10.5 approx compression eddy heads out of the box , hughes rocker gear rpm manifold ede 800 carb, Electric fans, pumps etc , 3500 stall edge convertor, 3.9 gears baby cam 484 lift pump gas 98 octane with octane booster, 26x 9.5 hoosiers just want to make little changes , Currently a very streetable combo and I want to keep it that way , My 60ft definetly need attention currently 1.9 or 2.0 Might be fuel delivery of the lne squirter size etc ,

Any ideas to get it in the 12 appreciated without internal engine changes etc thanx
