3 1/2" backspace (rears) and no mini tubs and stock width diff. SS springs and Comp Engineering Shocks.

Awesome, I ordered 15x8 wheels with 3.5 backspace so that is good to hear. Are your leafs in Stock location? Mine are, that's why I went with the 3.5 bs.

Everything is stock location Pro Sport. Pic below is with old leaf springs on it and I had 15 x 8 cop wheels with 255/60/15 M/T drag radials. Car sat lower and they sit easily. I actually had 10mm spacers in there as well..

Question for folks using the American Muscle Bullit Mustang knockoffs.
Anyone know what the center bore diameter is?
My setup.
Front Wheels
I have 73+ A body OEM disc up front. Any mods needed for the front hub to fit? Do I need to install longer studs?
Rear wheels
I'm running a B body 8 3/4, 11 x 2 1/2 drum brakes. I assume no issues with drum clearance.

I drive my car a lot and need to upgrade to 17" for better tire selection and like the look of these rims.

Thanks for any info.

You're going to need to either open up your wheel centerbores or turn down your hubs.

MuuMuu's right, the Bullit's need the centerbore's opened up to work in the front. And with a B body rear the 17x9's need at least a 6" backspace to clear a 275.

You could run the Legend series wheel from Summit. They make a 17x8" with 5.25" of backspace that will work with a 245/45/17 or even a 255/45/17 up front, although the 255/45/17 would probably require a little trimming on the front lower corner of the fender because of the tire height. They also make them in a 17x9" with a 6" backspace that should work on the back with the B body rear. Ideally they'd have about a 1/4" more backspace in the rear, but with a 275 the outer face of the tire would sit in the same place as my 295's do. You'd need to trim the quarter lip back for some clearance, mine are trimmed back a 1/2" and I haven't had any rubbing at all. Or you could just run the 17x8's with 255/45/17's all the way around.

I have the Legends on my Challenger, and they clear the 73+ hubs without modification. So other than a little trimming in the back if you wanted to run a 275 it would be a bolt on deal, no spacers, no machining of hubs or wheels.

Thanks for the info guys. I did find and read the other thread on installing bullitts but both of your inputs has cleared it up for me.
I have extended my lower front fender rods and currently run 235/60/15 4.5 BS with no issues so the 255/45/17 5.25 17x8 should work up front.
Definitely going to run a taller wider tire on the rear to kill the 3.91 gear a little for street driving. I'll get the tape measure out again and remeasure twice before spending the bucks.

One more question. Were the OEM front disk studs long enough for the Summit Legend series wheel?

Thanks again, I'm not a fan of spacers.

Best page ever... I am currently trying to see what I can fit under my girl without rolling the lip. Springs are going to the rails though and I will be doing my own mini tub. I want at least a 295 (28" tall).

Currently a slant six car w/ 205's all the way around on American Racing wheels

The one's on my repro 11.75" rotors were, but barely. Minimum engagement is 5-7 full rotations. I have a couple more than that, but there wasn't much to spare.

Just got my mt streets on today 325 are tight but I could get my finger in just past my fingernail at the outer wheel lip. May have lost the beater hub cap look lol which is totally what I was going for. Nwdart

Seank,
Can you post a pic of your car? I'd really like to see how your rims look and would like to ask if you have any rubbing issues in the front?
Sincerely,
Drew
