ProComp/Speedmaster aluminum heads

-
Yep, been running them since June. Bought them bare. I just lapped some summit valves and used trickflow springs, 1.460 o.d. because my comp 1.5 o.d. springs wouldn't fit. Heck, I never even checked the spring height. Car went 7.07 last night in the 1/8th. I still have cheap summit brand headers.

I used ARP bolts that where designed for edelbrock rpm heads on mine. I had read some bad reviews about speedmaster ones

Speedmaster studs on 410 small block with cometic head gaskets....12 to 1 compression....car has gone 10.37 here in Vegas.....how is that for a review...

Are they marked at all as to who made them. Any info in the package they came in. Good info, thanks.

Not even close! The little poke in the eye thing said I was given you crap! LOL don't turn this around on me....

Man you guys are no help in making me be patient to put these on...
I've got to figure out what to do with my gaskets. I know the suggested 8553 is 53 but I sure would like at least a good guess at what my compression will be. 40 over and 10, 000ths out of the hole icon flat top with valve reliefs.

Those things would alteady be checked out and on. If it was dry enough I would be getting time slips tonight. But there again I live in south central Texas they race most of the year.

No place of origin on the box so you decided from the photos. They look good and if @70aarcuda can run them the way he is running them, I dont give a **** if they are made on the moon I'm going to run em. It sounds like he is making more pressure than I will be by a good bit. They do have the socket head on the ends to make them easily removable.

$$$... I'm happy to just have the heads..
Going to get them checked out next week I hope. Then start saving for the bolts and gaskets...
From what I can calculate I would probably still be at least 11.5 to 1 with a .053 gasket and 10.8 with a custom .080 gasket. I tried .100 and it was 10.3 to 1.
I would like to run 92 octane!...

Come Black Friday the head studs will be on sale again....around 60 dollars..

I wonder if the bb head studs will work with a small block? Or are they a different size and length? I know there is more studs and nuts but that’s all I know. Kim

You can see the lengths of the studs provided with the small block set in my picture. Should be able to compare with the big block studs.
