Project Cheap & Nasty Updated With Back Story

-
wait, wait, wait just a gurd durn minute here. you said that you always used red hi temp RTV on them studs! now you're over here switching it up on us?!?
I don't think I ever said "always". But right now, I'm being CHEAP as I don't have any RTV, but I have plenty of #2.

Which is fine, because Permatex № 2 is a few hundred miles closer to being an appropriate material for this application than RTV.
Technically, I'm in agreement. However, there are a couple of reasons I personally prefer high temp RTV. First off of course, it seals. Then it withstands heat. Lastly, it also acts as an anti seize. I've always had good luck with it on bolt threads. It works "for me".

Got the adapter plate on the Super Six intake. Now I'm ready for a Holley 4412 two barrel. Probably more appropriately, a chinkesium knockoff Holley 4412. lol

Got my 1/4 x 32 tap today and installed the .040 jet in the main oil passage plug. I couldn't get the plug out, so I just screwed the jet in from the front. I also got my valve height mic today and took all those measurements. I have lots of shims, but of course I don't have the right ones so they are on the way. lol I "should" have a short block by the end of the week. Maybe. LOL

Got me an oil pump picked out and cleaned up, primed and painted with cast iron grey. I'm gonna put a high pressure relief sprAng in it.
