Project Crusty Biscuit (65 Plymouth Valiant)

With the rear axle installed I wanted to get working on the drive shaft. I was planning on using the original one from the car and had it put away but upon pulling it out I remembered that the old 904 that was behind the /6 had a flanged output shaft with the slip joint built in the shaft so that wouldn’t work with the new setup so a custom one was the only option. There aren’t any driveshaft shops that I could find in my area so I just jumped on eBay to see what I could find. I already had a slip-yoke and a pinion flange so I installed these in their places and measured the distance between them and learned that i will need a 50” driveshaft. I literally went on eBay and typed in “50 inch driveshaft” the first result was exactly what I needed and reasonably priced

It arrived at my house in 3 days!
It came with some crappy white paint on it so I stripped it all off and painted it with better paint in a more preferred color:

My local marine store has pretty much everything you need to re-wire ANYTHING! I’ve come here for pretty much every project I’ve done for supplies. The owner is super helpful and knows every single product he sells.

Been busy; chipped away at the wiring here and there and eventually got everything working. Sanderson headers finally arrived and got those installed yesterday, installed the distributor and plug wires and she’s a runner!

Shes a real beaut Clark. Seriously though, that's come a long way in a short time. I bet your aunt is watching from afar and thinks its cool too. You never see moredoors get any love, much less early A more doors. I love this build.

The plumbing for the air suspension system is also complete. I painted up the tank to match the interior color:

The next day it only took a couple hours to get everything installed and functioning! I will post a video soon!

These black DOT-rated air lines are temporary; once I get the trunk finished out I’m going to replace these lines with copper.
