Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

Amazing work. Imagine how many more rare cars got cut up and need to have this done.

To be honest I think this was better to do than dealing with a rotted car and restoring it. No rust on this at all. It was clean work, better than dealing with rust dust. No aftermarket panels on this car.
 
Looks to be all done.
I hear that is going to be a photo shoot at Bucky and Travis place. Tom Myl's will be there also. I believe it's going to be a work in progress and they will come back agin to do another photo shoot when its done. Let see.

The ex-Rich Thomas car out of St. Louis. Was owned by Reuben Pribyl in rural Nebraska from late '69 to '99 and hardly moved from that spot.

Paul Christopherson and a partner swooped in and bought most of his cars for sale. There was also a '68 and '69 Charger R/T Hemi (I could have bought the '69 for $8000), lots of extra parts...not sure when they bought each but I'm pretty sure they bought it all at some point. I sat on the pot too long and thought about it...called him up a few months after going out there and it was all gone.

I heard that they sold the SS 'cuda to a pro hockey player on the East coast for a decent profit.

Here's the '69...was a light hit on driver's front, he had an engine for it but wasn't numbers match. Was very close to being date correct though.

Not surprised...he'd bought it in '99 and there was plenty on the bone with the market in full upswing by that time. I quit following it's progress shortly after I heard everything was bought...I was going through an AMC phase at the time lol.

I also tried buying this car. I had more pictures but can't find them.
 
Not much of an up date
Just waiting for the photo shoot to get done, them the car will be on it way home. Still on the hunt for parts. Thanks for the people that has sent me part list and photos. Just going over the parts and who has what. A few of you have the same part that we need.
The holidays are slow things up a little.

And then there was this car in the same shed. Was a customer car getting engine rebuild, it threw a rod when it was nearly new and sat in storage until then.

Tom Myl went to Travis Hess's place for a photo shot of the Barracuda getting restored Back to the day when Tom owned and drove it. More to come....

Tom was so blown away about the car and appreciated. He said the workmanship on this car was amazing he could no stop telling Tony and Travis. He was bummed that Tony could not make it down for the photo shoot but Tony said we will meet again when the car is done. Tony did not think it was about him it was about the car and Tom.

The Barracuda is back home LOOKS AMAZING!!! But we had a little set back, Tony cut two of his fingers so need to wait for them to heal. Still hunting for 68 SS Parts.

Its on the rotisserie now looking good

Hi,

I´m trying to dig up information about how these cars were raced during the first couple of years, and when the first upgrades were done, and what was done. I´m talking about the suspensions and chassis.

Now, I see the front torque boxes are in place on this car. Does it mean the car had them when picked up at Hurst, or was it done later?... if so, when was it done?

And have I got this right... The restoration is as raced during the 1969 season?
Details... I want details :)

And again, thank You for sharing this very interesting restoration, and the paint scheme turned out... well I have only lame English words to describe it...

And yes when I see the last post of the thread... I hope Tom is recovering well...

It's a bummer that the pictures do not show up. I wish I could edit it and reload them. At least we did not loose them, just have to click on the IMG.
