Stop in for a cup of coffee

The one time my unit got their orders to deploy, literally came the day I was on the operating table for my first knee surgery, that happened during training. so, no deployments :( . I'm trying to get a rep through DAV as they come highly recommended. Just missing some paperwork thats gonna make it difficult to prove. Same with my back injury. Unit lost the LOD paperwork... so while I have my copies, nothing was ever officially filed on either.
That's all you need. Your not the first nor the last. On my last deployment I was sent as a single. As I was out processing I asked the medical clerk if I could get a copy of my file. I'd torn up my shoulder and had some other medical issues. She explained it'd all be forwarded in my file. I asked again and I got it. Turns out when I got back my file had NO medical paperwork. That medical unit left soon after I did. Trying to track that paperwork would of been nearly impossible. That paperwork, my copy, turned out to be over 50% of the disability payment I receive. Glad you have found a good rep.

Hey all, Morning, hearing about the money you get as retired / injured from military makes me pissed I did not hang in there a few more years...

Its nice to not have to bundle up to go outside. Sad part is all the ice thats about to happen.

Cleaned shop floor, decided to straighten my hoist. 4 post just sits on the floor. It walks. I moved it back,11 inches to square it up. It was wierd driving in and its not square to shop door.

meh... I don't know it is all a points game. Whether active duty or reserves, goes by points. Active of course is better off but reserves get screwed, even if they've deployed. My father in law retired as an E8, 22 years in the Reserves, deployed 3 times to combat zones, multiple times of humanitarin missions. I did his retirement paperwork to start getting his pension in august. His point total netted him just under 640 bucks a month?!?! and to get tricare for just him, 450 a month. so thats' part of the reason I've all but decided its not worth staying for my 20. If I stay, I might get 400 a month. I think focusing on my civilian career is gonna pay off more than the guard side.

At retirement Tricare is FREE!! I don't pay a monthly premium. Co-pay for a family is $3k then its free!! I don't know where the $450 a month comes from??
Compare the policy to what you'll pay in 18 years from now and think about how nice it will be compared to a civilian policy.

Tricare Retired Website. Keep in mind, there's tricare retired for active duty and tricare retired reserve for reserves and guard.

I'm still weighing options. I'm thinking of just doing a 1 year extension at a time if i do it. Then if the bullshit continues the way it has been, i'd only have a few months of having to deal with it.

And at retirement he enrolls in Tricare for Life. Is that the one you used?? No monthly fees.

You can also just got to a reserve unit and drill for points only. No PT test or deployments.

he tried, was told he wasnt eligible by Tricare themselves. Said he'd only qualify for the Tricare Retired Reserve

When I was in Jr high, a kid that sat next to me came to school with a black eye... He said he was skitching and the car suddenly braked and he hit his head on the bumper... Skitching is where you hang on the bumper and get dragged...

My junior year of high school (we went to different high schools), I saw a report on the news that he and a friend tried to make a home made pipe bomb in their garage and it blew up and killed them....

Some people just don't get it....
