How the hell were you racing that rear?

There is like a spring ring into the carrier on the shaft splines no other way to do it. have to be pulled. I now see why these rears grenade. Really light duty for sure.
Is that a 8.75 with the tapered axles?

I hammered it hard a few times after the bearing change, but I kept it soft and sweet most of the time after that, raced it hard for maybe 20 races of the line, I was so happy the day it came out, still have it

The new one should be a big improvement!

This little engine pushed it good, I think having skinny tires on it saved the rear end

Ray can you do the borrow/rent thing from auto zone or some place like?? Would they have that??

I has the puller for the tapered axles too.
I built my first slide hammer. But its long gone.

This little engine that could...It pushed it good...from under the hood... Sounds like a nice little song
The 170 would sing a great song, I still say cool fresh air and locked in dizzy made it, the dual manifolds to one 2" pipe tuned it well, it picked up 4 or more miles to the gallon after I did this . what a great 7 years that engine gave me of daily driving and track time

Good morning, warm today for Minn.
Same here Pete, sunny and 55 today brother !!

My body guy has a nice set think he has the flange part also. If not a chain will work. Never really need one But I should buy a cheap 10 lb one. Hell I have a set of expandable bearing pullers like a slide hammer. Tell you what they save a ton of *** pain.

No biggie Chuck is just down the street. I know he has one and can always rip it out with a chain around the flange.

This set has saved my *** a bunch of times.

to small if you ask me, I ended up putting a puller on it and right when I couldn't turn the bold anymore I knocked the **** out of the housing with a big *** hammer and when I seen it move I stood up and stretched!! Drank a beer and thanked the lord it broke loose from its 45 year seat ! It hurts just thinking about it

That set is for internal bearings/races mike. Just need a 10lb slider and the flange someone will have it around here. Hell I guess I should do bearings and seals while it is out also.

Dean the mechanic across the street will have something for sure. Hell he has my hub puller that can work and a big slide hammer.

LOL started taking the cross pin out and the gears are so high the pin hits the ring gear! Pretty funny. Think they are 2.50 something have not cleaned them up yet.
