Stop in for a cup of coffee

So today’s dart plan didn’t go very well. Got some trimming and final fitting done on the drivers quarter and the tail panel. Pics will be post shortly on my build thread.

Bad news is, I just broke one of my Hemis. Badly. And hurt my back in the process. Had it on the hoist and was lifting it with an engine chain, bolted all the way in with a grade 8 bolt, had it almost up high enough to bolt to the stand, when the bolt head snapped right of, engine and hoist and me went to the ground. Landed hard on my back on concrete. I don’t bruise easily and my wife says my entire back is black and blue.

Now the worst news is, the block on the hemi is busted. Big hole in it. And sadly, it was my 09 eagle head Hemi. Hole is about 3x5 inches . Pics to follow. Now to find out if I can swap everything for the heads onto one of my other 5.7 hemi blocks.
Sorry man. Hope you heal quick.
If you want to post pics of the brocken bolt, maybe we can figure why it failed. Don't want that to happen agian if you can help it.

Oh man.
Metric bolts with 8.8 arent that tough. Color is irrelevant.

Sorry you hurt yourself, that really sucks.
they aren’t metric. 3/8-16. They were brand new 3 inch long grade 8s from tractor supply I bought this morning

I didn’t get any. I’ll go back to it tomorrow. Was so mad and hurt so bad, I just left it all sitting where it fell.

Hey all, unfortunately, I sold my car, I have mouths to feed, not expected, it sold to a member and moderator...they asked not to be known....
I hope whoever bought it is enjoying it. And maybe one day we will read about it here.

Naturally. No rush.
If this is a motivator - check out Carrol Smith's Engineer to Win. Pretty readable, and a lot of good tips for assembly and fabrication so stuff doesn't fail.

I bet I could get rid of them in less than 10 minutes... More like 5 or less... :D
Just say No.
LOL.
Actually I usually say thank you no thankyou Have a nice day. They're pretty easy to move along - at least around here.

So, if given the choice .....bourbon, scotch, or a couple beers?

That sucks... Hope you're not hurt real bad...

Hopefully you can get another Hemi together for it...

Evening fellers.

Just got done with my commute. Saw a wreck on the interstate. It was on the other side and into the median and didn't look too bad so I kept going.

Then i stopped to help a guy with a flat tire on a newer dodge caravan. He didn't want me to get dirty but then i asked him if he wants to be stranded all night or get this done!?

Then I stopped at the love's gas station off the highway and a guy was there telling me he used to race a swinger 340 and wanted to check out my dart.

Then I got home and some people were on my porch. Jehovah witnesses, so it took awhile to get rid of them.

Busy day!!!!!

Very nice Rainy! That was so very nice of you to help a stranger in the time of need.

Yeah, but it's fun to provoke them and see how fast I can piss them off... :poke:

My rudeness kicks in hard and fast when people try to preach their religion to me... :icon_fU: :mob: :soapbox:

Believe what you want, but leave me out of it...
