One more big puzzle piece

Today's little project was installing a replacement socket in the waggoneer's dash.
Unfortunately, the contacts didn't touch the board well enough to light it up unless I pressed on it.
However i did find the original - with a couple broken ears (which is why it didn't work at all).
Seemed like the best thing to do was transfering the old contacts to the new holder.

Old ones had to be punched out after cutting the bottom of the shell. New ones just pulled out. Figures.

Turns out they are different depth. Argh. Always something.

I have some plastic epoxies which would make a good filler, but they are down at the garage.
Tommorow...

Those look like the standard old Mopar instrument light sockets.

and every other company too I think. So I thought - no problem. I have small collection taken from junkyard cars. They were all for 5/8" diameter and these are 1/2" diameter. :BangHead:

I was correctly told this generic Dorman/Connectite socket would fit. It just doesn't work. Little details.

I think Chrysler did use a 1/2 holder for some years. Not sure which ones.

Anybody watching the football game??
What game was that? Just got home from work a bit ago. Mizzerable weather heare. Sleet/freezing rain. No problem driving though. Well not with the weather anyway. I did have to deal with a buttnugget driver... I go through a one lane rail underpass on the way home. There were cars coming the other way as I approached. First one was about same distance as me. I flashed my lights for him to go. Second one scoots through not far behind. Next one was quite a bit back tries to run it. :wtf: By this time I was already started in. I continued almost through. He stops right at the other side, like I am supposed to squeeze between him and a stone wall. Nope don't think so. I just stopped 3 ft from him and waited till he backed up.:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

Good morning to the whole crew. Hope everyone has a great day. More rain/snow today then dropping to 19 as a high tomorrow. Supposed to be back to 40 by the weekend.

Hey Hey its the start of another day...Good Morning Eric and Chris.
