Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well I pulled the 6.1 out of the Demon in preparation of paint. I can only say it was done with some assistance from adult beverages. I must emphatically explain that I do not endorse adult beverages when engaging hydraulic lifts and rigging equipment. For the obvious safety reasons. They are as follows, potentially you could totally screw up mix ratios on whiskey, you could spill your drink. You could accidentally drop your drink and break your mug, and you could get in a terrible row with your neighbor over which is best Zepplin or Alice In Chains. Suffice to say drinking whilst pulling an engine is rife with dangers. On to paint!

oh I wish I could that first that first hand
It was pretty cool I had aft watch and it was night and we were doing rescue ship in case some one fell off during training. We were a few hundred yards aft and the shock wave was wild. Thought I busted a ear drum. Biggest flash bang I was ever around!

I honestly wanted to join the Navy. until I found out from a recruiter they'd retired the Iowas and all "battleships" a few years prior. I wanted to fire those guns.

Lots of PR and it is not like you will be able to request it either. Have a certain height weight standards and have to have near perfect evaluations. Pretty sure it is like the Constitution they ask you. Same with the Air Force one/marine one teams.. Best of the best only. Think the USS Sequoia was the same when it was commissioned. Had a Chief that was one it as a second class BM. Now that was some easy duty for sure. Might have actually worked a few weeks a year except for upkeep of the boat.

So started picking away at the rust scale on the hoist- again.
This time was clean the joints between deck and the long c-channels. Must have run the needle scaler for 2 hours. Still working like a champ. Scaled, wire wheeled and gave it a bead of seam sealer. Should reduce the seepage of road salt into the gap and slow the rust.

Oh so quiet...
Caught in the youtube loop again...

Well, today was no fun at all. Woke up with atrial fibrillation going like mad and it didn’t stop. At 4 pm, I went to the ER and spent all evening there. I just got home an hour ago with a packet of blood thinners and the referral for a cardiologist. They couldn’t make it stop.

Then, just as fast as it started...bam. It stopped about 30 mins ago. Back to normal rhythm.

I will still take the blood thinners and see the cardiologist though. This episode was scary
