That's nice working on the old cars. Has to be a nice change for you too.

Good morning all!! Guys showed up yesterday to do the remodel on the outside of the house and the roof. Could I do it...ya sure...not enough time to do it...not a flipping carpenter either, I will stay in my lane and pay these dudes to do it. What is gonna take them a few weeks would take me months I'm sure. Really excited to see it done!@

Hey I did 33 years, with five of that Active Duty as a Guard member. It was a nice check and the health insurance was awesome!! Plus I enjoyed my time served.

I did a month short of 25 before I had to get out. Three more years to get a check!View attachment 1715395076 7 active USN, then over 5 active guard/reserve USNR/UASFG Ton of points over 4200. That's the ticket do as many courses you can to earn points.
One of the options I have should the direct commission fall thru, which i fully expect it too, is warrant officer, I meet all the criteria and if I get it, it’d double my retirement .

Oh man, when I read about these people from back then, I am almost pissing myself so I am laughing. Talk about getting nicknames for the way they looked or acted.
I wish it was easier for you here in the US to find out about your family background way back in time. It is hilarious reading. Who cares when you go back 1000 years in time, but it is good theater.

Bill

We have family ties to the Bamble area in Norway. The family book on Mom's side goes back to 1400 or so. On Dad's side my aunt was able to track 1400 or so names to Norway also. Slide in a bit of Scot/Irish and a tad of Polish but mostly Norway. I love reading about people and events from way back then. Happy Tyr's Day today.

Bill,

Not sure if you have read The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson. Hard to read but great old stories of the Pagan Days

My dad went back to mid 1400's. He was all over it. He used to go to Germany to the villages to look at the church records really interesting on ancestory.com, under Warren Brenner

Morning coffee drinkers, nice cool morning here. Lots to do around here, honey do's before the show Saturday.

Lots to do around here,
Hey. Morning.
Lot's to fix here!
Going down to the garage this morning to get the car onto street tires, check out some noises that I didn't like, and hopefully pull the wagon in so I can deal with the bolt that dropped out of on of the body mounts.

Daughter and Grandkids are in the air as we speak. They had to come a week earlier due to a lack of military seats next week. I pick them up at 6pm tonight.
I go back to the airport tomorrow and pick John up.
The SNL comes in next week after his leave starts.
Easier for him as a single on leave to get a seat.
Full house!!
Holy crap that is going to be some crazy dinner table action! Have a blast and enjoy every bit of it! As crazy as those kind of house invasions can be, the place sure seems quiet when they all leave. Part of me likes the chaos, and part of me just wants to hang out with my hound! We are still looking at meeting you guys in Chicago for show.

I know that have a few that will be added on. The USAF guard was a pia they would pull you out at 89 days most of the time. Rescue was weird, we would be in a non combat area for most of the time then fly into the holy hell areas and set up for a month or so then back to the safe areas. No idea if the safe areas (mostly Turkey) count. I did get combat pay the whole time though. I do have to say one thing I have a ton of respect for the Iraqi Kurds. The Iraqis would hit them with chemical weapons, the Turks would bomb them daily. We go in they were freaking awesome to have around great people. Amazing they survive to this day.
If you got paid it counts!

Looking forward to Chicago!! TMM says he'll be there and maybe Karl will come by.
