Stop in for a cup of coffee

First, you track the calories in what you eat each day over the course of about 2 weeks to determine what your baseline daily caloric intake is. If your weight is generally steady, then you are burning equal to what you consume. Then, simply reduce it by 300 calories per day and you will start losing about 2.5-3 lbs per month.

Since you burn less as you get smaller, after about 40 lbs loss you will need to reduce it by another 300 calories per day to keep that difference in intake vs. burn.

The scale will tell you if you are maintaining enough differential. You should be consistently between 2-4 lbs per month lost. If you are at only 1 lb per month lost for 2 months in a row, you need to reduce the calories a bit more.

I can estimate your current burn rate at about 3200 calories per day based on your weight.

Is this math formula fairly accurate ?

Calories burned in a day: Calculation, factors, exercise, weight loss

The BMR is about right with anything beyond that calculated in. BMR is just what it takes to stay alive while laying flat and doing nothing.

This calculator is one of the several that I use to cross check. It’s a decent reference point.

There is a figure in addition, 1.2 for being lazy :), 1.37 for having a little more activity, and then other figures for even more activity.

Seems about right. I do between 4000-7000 steps per day when I work from home and on weekends just staying in the yard.
Most of today was crawling around building the framework for the 24x40 fabric shed. And back and forth to shop for tools.
The step counter is about average, except many days my phone is on my toolbox or desk.

I know. I used 1.3 as my calculation factor to get to 3100 calories.

Don’t focus on calories burned, just use it as a cross check. Focus instead on calories consumed.

If your weight is generally steady, calculate and reduce calories by 300 per day to achieve your goals.

I cut back on my sugar i put in my coffee. First day i crashed about 4:00pm. Almost no sugar.
Was sweating, ears ringing and i started to shake. Immediately went and had something to eat.
Low blood sugar,i’m sure.
So im a little more careful. Next round with the doc in two months i may start a discussion about diabetes...

I find it amazing the mess guys make of there wiring on A Bodies!!
I've seen some pretty scary house wiring jobs...

Anyway, that guy will have to figure out what he's got there on his own. Somehow I can't see through the screen, never mind figuring out why he's quoting me and talking about something else.

I tried to Keto diet some years ago, but I ate too little sugar, because some you need. So, after some days my head started spinning, and got extremely hot like it was on fire, and I was unsteady and had to lay down, but it just continued, so I got up and managed to cut myself one slice of bread, and then put some on and ate, and went back on the coach. In not too long things started to get sort of normal. But that was a scary one, I never tried that diet again. Guess I was laying on the coach for half an hour before I sort of felt normal, and then I got up and ate even more.

You Americans are an interesting breed. In Norway where socialism has been around for so long everyone expect the government to take care of things. Not only take care of people, but I mean like everything. So, people are not very good at taking care of each other. Well, they do to a certain extent, but not like here.

I have found out that when something really bad happens, and people need help, your neighbor, or the next town, or whatever, you are there. If a natural disaster happens, who comes to help, well, the national guard, and other authorities, but private people too, and those you maybe can rely most on are the hicks and rednecks. The longer the beard, and the more bent the cap shade is, the bigger the trucks, the bigger the trailers with all kinds of equipment, and the more gas cans. And it always includes a cooler with ice and something to drink and eat, and the bbq'er is also on the truck bed with some bags of charcoal.

This amazes me, I am not used to see it in Norway. Well, maybe you see some of it among farmers in Norway. But not city folks.

Please, don't let go of this, it makes you special on this planet.
