Well, the smoking have just started. The weather is cold, a tiny little drizzle in the air so it is perfect for smoking salmon. Just need to keep turning the smoker on and off with like half an hour in between. Should have had a timer for that. But, I am not that advanced.

Oh man that salmon begin to taste wonderful. The cold weather makes it possible to cold smoke it.

How long do you smoke it? I have a smoke tube that I put chips in. It will last an hour then you need to refill. Great for cold smoking fish and cheese.

Power washed and drying.

The most important to me is getting the passenger side of the engine clean so I can get to the distributor, fuel pump and all that kind of thing without getting covered in grease

Day is done. 2 oil changes, some diagnostics, an oxygen sensor that was forcing a rich mixture,and really slow reacting.
New one perked it right up again. And with check engine light out, remote starter now works.
 
Busy day today. I need to put some lights on the tree tonight.

We did that the weekend before Thanksgiving and also did the outside lighting.. Actually that was the only weekend we had time between then and Christmas.

Reason being, I had another surgery today on my foot. This time my damn big toe... Thankfully its only a 2 week recovery. Aww to be blessed with great feet. This is surgery #4 between both feet. 3 on the right and 1 on the left. LOL

This time of year is what we call the “Silly Season” in the Pharma business. Crazy work load and unrealistic demands by management to get stuff done before Christmas. You would think after decades of doing this stuff that they would have learned that they can’t add on new projects and get vendors to be able to do them as they are booked solid before the end of year shut down that they all do.

Ignorance is a condition, stupidity is a choice.

I can’t fix stupid...or execute stupid ideas on unrealistic timelines.

They might as well just ask me to try to get taller.
 
How long do you smoke it? I have a smoke tube that I put chips in. It will last an hour then you need to refill. Great for cold smoking fish and cheese.

I would have liked to smoke it for like 6 hours, but, then you have to take into account that I place a wet rag over the outlet of the cabinet to keep the smoke in, and I heat the wood for like 10-15 minutes, and turn it off for like 30-45 minutes. Just to keep it cool. Because since I do not have the hose between the smoker and the cabinet. It is a Bradley smoker, and I am very happy with it, just that for cold smoking the food get half cooked even on the lowest smoking with the heater in the cabinet off. Unfortunately it started tiny drizzle changed to rain so I had to stop it and take it in after about 4 hours. But, the fish tastes yummy. It will definitely both be eaten and enjoyed. So much cheaper to smoke it myself than buy smoked salmon in the stores. In some days maybe I will smoke some cod too. The smoked salmon is not for dinner, it is for "cold cut" on my open face sandwich. The cod on the other hand, that will also be cold smoked, but then poached and eaten warm for dinner with tators and mashed rutabaga and small pieces of bacon.

The only bright spot in my day was that between conference calls I was able to do some tweaking to the garage door insulation and seal.

The garage was holding steady at 61* with the oil filled heater running on medium 900w setting at 2 pm with the outside temp at 42*. After the tweaks, it is now steady at 64.5* even though the outside temp has dropped to 36*.
