Man, I just uncorked a bottle of George Dickel #8 sour mash! Dayummmm! I bought 2. I wish I bought more.

And I spent a peaceful afternoon doing the yearly weapons cleaning and loading magazines with new ammo.

I like to sip Crown. Is this a smooth whisky??
Crown, and most other blended canadian whiskeys, are generally very smooth. Bourbons and Scotches will usually have a bit 'stronger' flavor. Like Mike said, peated scotches can be downright brutal if you're not a big scotch drinker. Most of the single malt scotches usually have a strong flavor where many blended scotches (Pinch comes mind) take some of the edge off. Myself, I like wheated bourbons, just the right amount of boubon bite with a smoothness you can sip for hours

Just my .02..

Macallan 12... always a good choice. Took me a while to get a taste for scotch in general, but this one was good from the start (for a scotch!)
We tried a sherry cask finish that was good. I like single malts and double cask as well. I am not a fan of much peat though. We sampled Highland Scotches a month or so ago. Good stuff.

Found it! These were the Highland non peated Scotches we tried. I liked them all. $50-$60 range.

I have become a huge Rye fan. Love the spice!

Good Afternoon All! Well, wife got the pink slip today, they are closing her office because Corona, won't reopen. Not good timing with our conversion from construction loan to mortgage. She works till the end of month discharging clients. Hopefully if we do get asked by the bank if we are both still working we can say "yes" with a sorta straight face....

Thanks, she's a big believer in "things happen for a reason"....hopefully she finds work closer to home. Being a drug and alcohol counselor I don't see anyone really hiring for awhile, at least she has the credentials and certifications.

After we get over this virus thing her services will be needed!
