Son’s project truck, seems like its only running on 4 cylinders, not even exhaust out the back. I replied exhaust is plugged. He just sent me a picture. View attachment 1715507916
Talk to SteveUsing the truck to smuggle coffee beans in from Central America? There must be an easier place to hide them.
So I went to bolt the T56 to my mock up block, couldn’t get it to go on, go looking and the block saver plate is hung up on the rear plugs for the team cam bearing cover. Tried 3 other 440 blocks, same problem.

No these two Allen head plugs. And yes, I realize I can drill out the plate but really do not want too. I tried turning them in, but that’s as close as I can get them to flush. Might try finding shorter onesAre you Talking about the Dowel Pin Locators ??????
Take them out, run a thread chaser in the holes, then they will go all the way in. Or mostly, then grind them flat...Grind Em Flat to the Block..........Just make sure you can still get a tool in to remove, if needed.....
OR^^^^^^^^^^Just drill the dam plate already!!

will do, for now, this is just for mockup so I can build my floors, I'll just pull the plugs out for now, figure it out on my actual running block. Those are pipe plugs... Most pipe plug taps are tapered...
Remove the plugs and GRADUALLY use a tapered pipe tap to make the hole open up a little at a time until the plugs will go in flush... BE CAREFUL NOT TO RUN THE TAP IN TOO DEEP AND THE PLUG WILL GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE HOLE BEFORE GETTING TIGHT....
(That's what she said... )
