Stop in for a cup of coffee

Now I have money burning a hole in my pocket. What to buy, what to buy?

Now I'll have to research the New Madrid fault line :BangHead:.
Earthquakes fascinate me, having experienced so many.
pretty much runs along the Mississippi river up to the Ohio River Valley. Not near as active as the San Andreas, but when it goes, it has a much higher likelihood of being a high 6 or high earthquake. And its all in bedrock so the earthquake travels out 5-10 times farther than an earthquake in say CA or the west coast. About 150 years ago, they had an earthquake so powerful, the mississippi river reversed course and flowed south to north.

That does track right over the recent seismic activity in Idaho. 3 years off, no biggie.
i doubt thats any effect by this time. But sure enough, Alaska had a 7+ a few months after being in the path. Then there was a mid 6 south of Seattle, also in the path. and then Kentucky where the darkness was longest, had a 5.8 just 10 miles from the epicenter of the path.

Yes, I was just looking at the New Madrid Seismic Zone. Intersting stuff.
We register many eath quakes a year here in northeast Arkansas
Anybody else get their stimulus check yet? Mine showed up this morning. A nice bump for my checkbook balance. I need to switch some savings to a CD but the rates are down. My big cd is at 2.150 and the rate today is only 1.25.:wtf::BangHead::BangHead:
I got mine this morning

Needs a cleaning. Aparrently came off a running ? 327?
Regardless, should work for me.
Just need to find/ build the necessary throttlely bits.

We got ours yesterday. I kind of wished they would have only given this to people who's jobs were affected by the virus. I have been working from home and still being paid as normal and, the wife is still being paid so we have been lucky in that account. If they only paid people who's jobs were affected they could of given those people more money. Just my 2 cents.

It's been pretty quiet out here lately. All that rumblin' out there by China Lake NWC must have relieved a great deal of pressure. After the stay at home orders rescind I need to make a trip up north and check this out.

It's only 100? miles from here.
From what I remember of the Mississippi Valley, there looked like very little elevation change for 100s of miles. All it would take for the river to flow south to north would be just a tiny bit of change in elevation for the direction to change, and water does flow downhill.

i agree, now they're talking about giving everyone, regardless of employment status, 2k a month for the rest of the year. I do NOT like this idea at all, i dont like this one. I even read the entire bill trying to find a way to reject it. I am completely against it. which is why I'm not investing it or buying anything big with it, its going to bill

Up here, we applied for it.
Part of qualifying, had to file a tax return last year. I could see this causing problems for a lot of people that didnt file...

The wife and I were talking about that this morning. We are not "in need" but I'm sure I can stimulate the economy with mine. LOL
