Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well nothing to report here.
Weather the last few days have been windy and cooler 40's. Warms up a little here the next couple days, and then back to low 70's. I'm ready for it.
The cooler weather kept me in the house for the last week and that wasn't any fun. I mean I sorted and organized the food pantry...how bored am I??
My buddy John thinks he'll be on his way here end of May. We'll get to work on the Barracuda, and do some stuff that's beyond my capabilities. Looking forward to it. He said he needs a break (no he's single) so might stay longer. No problem!!

They check our temperature everyday before we are allowed to enter.

im actually curious to see if the theory holds true about eclipses and earthquakes. USGS has found evidence that within 6 to 12 months of an eclipse, somewhere along the path of totality, a major earthquake of 6.5 or higher hits. It holding true going back to the early 1900s so far. The scary part is, the next total solar eclipse in 2024, goes right over the New Madrid fault line. Which is several decades past a predicted large earthquake. it will be interesting to see if that trend holds true and if that just happens to be the trigger for the New Madrid to finally erupt violently
Never heard that. I will pay attention to that now. LOL

Put the new magneto coil on the mower yesterday. Seems like that solved the problem. Was not pulling the starter in right, but I think that was due to low battery. It did fire up much easier than it has in a long time. Let it run a bit to charge up. Want to get out andcut a small area to check it out, but it's chilly out there..

Gonna change the oil? :poke:
Haha yep I can do that.
I could get the shop manual and do some of the project list on my own, but why when I have him coming to help.
Like many I get to help, watch, and learn something.

yep. its circumstantial at best right now because how can you really say that an earthquake 6-12 months after an event was triggered by the eclipse. but obviously, the more data points, the stronger that case gets. But check this out. This map is the projected paths of each, 2017 actually came in several hundred miles north and came thru Alaska and Washington, but you get the idea, if this map is close to accurate, the New Madrid area is center of the X...

this next map is the actual path of 2017's. It just clipped Fairbanks Alaska, where there was that big earthquake few months later.

Yes, I was just looking at the New Madrid Seismic Zone. Intersting stuff.

Ya...I will remember this 4 years from now...lol

My last set of Hastings piston rings were dead on. This set may need some filing. I was all set to do the rings last night but couldnt find my feeler guages.
Yesterdays progress. $300.00+ in new parts on the way. The sludged 360 mag had a good cam core in perfect shape. Guess I get to ship to Oregon Cam's.
Oh, and the fastback project snowballed.

lol, my first two years of college, I hadn't declared a major, so I studied multiple different topics, almost went to geology but I didn't want to spend 18 months going around the world studying rocks. The New Madrid fault is fascinating to me so I'm for sure gonna remember this theory. It pops into my head anytime an earthquake is mentioned anymore.

Cancelled my order for under rated 1/2 hp well pump with Homely Depot. Note - Main customer service # is useless if you need to talk to someone. I was on hold for over an hour yesterday (while working on the mower) before I hung up and went to work. Called the store directly this morning and it only took about 5 minutes. Now, just have to see if the charges get reversed in next couple days as they said...

Anybody else get their stimulus check yet? Mine showed up this morning. A nice bump for my checkbook balance. I need to switch some savings to a CD but the rates are down. My big cd is at 2.150 and the rate today is only 1.25.:wtf::BangHead::BangHead:

yeah got mine too. We're paying up all bills for however far out that will get us, at least 3-4 months, then putting what's left on the credit card balance, almost got it paid off.
