Snow is piling up. Gotta be a few inches of white fluff now and if they are right, this thing is barely started. Guess I will give it a couple hours and run the blower once today.
 
A few of you guys got snow, little jealous, none this year down low. Wife is in Michigan, she's driving on it. I put snow tires on her Stinger last week, found out it throws the rocks out at 130 mph, probably shouldn't drive that fast on Blizzaks!!!!
 
Oh, okay jerky, never had it. Sons girlfriend is from there, had to leave school here, covid. We hope to visit her and family, she says we'll have a braai (bbq) They like their meat!

So normal jerky is dehydrated or smoked or bakes. Bitong is done via dying in the sun and moving air. Bitong is lean meat, with all the fat trimmed off. Jerky is left with fat on it or in it. Bitong is all dry spiced, basically cured like Ham in the old days. It’s supposedly healthier and has less sodium and stuff than jerky.

Just tried it, I’m a huge beef jerky fan but this stuff is really really good. I like it better than jerky. I ordered it from a place in Oklahoma. Sadly, they apparently got bought it recently and closed their doors right after I ordered my sample kit. Bitong is rather expensive and time consuming to make.
 
Ah bummer. My wife has made homemade jerky using a food dehydrator, not smoked. Wasn't bad as I recall, been quite a while. It's hard to find good jerky imo. Some of the best I had growing up was some venison jerky my aunt made, ate too much of it tho....

I’m making venison jerky now, it’s soaking in marinade now. But I’m thinking I may try to make bitong from what I have left too
 
Checked kids car over, should be good for a few trips. Just not excited about going to work in the parts store this week. Hate wearing the mask,fogs my glasses. Manager is so quick to show me computer stuff,i dont catch on. And if im standing too far away, i dont catch what hes doing.

Uploaded 1400+ photos to my laptop and then deleted them off my phone. The ol phone works much better now.
