I changed oil and belts on the Neon yesterday. Then it overheated on the way to work. :wtf: Not boiling or steaming, just guage hit H and started beeping at me.
First thought was I did something wrong with the belts, but the water pump is driven by the timing belt. You can't even see the thing without taking half the car apart... I thought maybe I f'd up the fan wires, but they work when I turn on the AC.
It was a little low on coolant. I added like half gallon of water including the reservoir and that seems to have taken care of it. Surprised that little bit was enough to make it overheat. Guess I should check the antifreeze strength. Not even sure what kind it has in it- think its regular green stuff.

Good Morning
Low coolant, then airlocked when you jacked it up. That was something to expect if coolant was drained out.

It was cold pulling the drums off the diff. But its done, hes happy. And im happy to help him out.

and its snowing. Have to get project out of shop, but first i need to check angle of header downpipes, and see if 45 degree elbows will work.

Fans are fine, so that must have been all it was. Now if only I could locate my coolant tester... Guess I will be picking up a new one.

Those coolant testers are sneaky little buggers. Put them down and they run off and hide with the battery brushes.
Then, get this- they jump out and show themselves as soon as you buy new ones...

Brake job is done. Rear calipers were hanging up. Not a cheap fix that’s for sure. Next is toyoyo for cv axles methinks.

Man I thought Indiana roads were bad. Ohio roads take the cake. Beat my Jeep to bits, broke my track bar I think. Freaking death wobble now with every bridge expansion joint.

Honestly, it’s more of the fear factor. Ever since it took that electrocution back in 2009, ive steered as far away from anything with wires as much as I can. I even get nervous plugging in cords to outlets

Could that have caused your medical issues???

I'm not even going to start on California roads.
Its not fair to make you nice people listen to that.

I'm only going to say one thing,

multi-layer pavement potholes
like pothole stairs that make your alignment go off by 4 DEGREES!!!!!!

maybe i'm bitter.

For the money we pay for roads here, yes, they suck.....Over a hundred a month for registration on my vehicles...All paid at once..
ALTHO, worst road I have ever driven on, called an "interstate", was in Indiana. Thought I broke a axle on my car trailer, no ****....I stopped to check, it was VERY rough!!! Right before a bridge, where asphalt meets concrete. Sum *****!! Like a sharp edged moon crater...

Yeah they paved that section finally but the pole holes in Ohio on 275 were the size of a Volkswagen And had more craters than even the moon. It tore my track bar bushing. Which probably needed replaced anyway but that just made it that much worse coming home. Felt like I’d broken an axle too. And I have a d44 front!

Yota needs both axles. And a few lights replaced. Good money will be made this week.

Ain't highway construction grand? Can't tell ya how many times I was handed specs for a project and the first thing that entered my mind was ":wtf: were they thinking?".
