Stop in for a cup of coffee

Here’s my steering wheel, on the dash! Hah! My version of a 100pt interior, toggle switches and QD steering. But seriously it is amazing listening to Craig and his wife talk to folks at the shows about the car. There are just so many folks that are genuinely interested and share knowledge back and forth. I always learn while listening in. The detailed knowledge of some of the spectators is amazing.

She wanted to know all there was about the Barracuda. I made her a 67 Barracuda 383 cheat sheet.
One year we were driving eight hours to Mopars In The Park. Most of the drive we talked and I quizzed her on the car.
We got to the show and she was all smiles when the old guys would walk up and ask "Is that your car"
For those of you that don't know her she's a charmer, talker, tall and blonde.
The old guys loved talking cars with her...more than me haha!!

You ever find the correct carb

Famous jump master quote “chase your luggage boys” As you watch the pallet with all your gear go out the back!
Day two of Basic training started at 0430, everyone up with a banging of a trash can and stick, slam everything we had just been issued, and unpacked the night before into our two duffle bags. Forced duffle bag March 4 miles to the rappelling tower. Everyone climb the stairs, open your duffles and dump the contents. Now you have 15 minutes to find just your stuff out of a stack of crap.
Was a giant test to see who labelled their stuff correctly. They went around and did an inventory

Oh better someone punched someone else Drill made us carry all 50 bunks and wall lockers with gear down four flights of stairs.
He had us set them up in identical rows as they were in the barracks.
As we finish another Drill walk up "WTF is this **** doing on my drill floor"? Get it upstairs where it belongs inspection in an hour.
Yes that day we exceeded the basics in teamwork. An experience I've never forgotten.

We had a few scuffles but nothing the drills ever found out about.

Good Times

He was standing there when the first punch was swung, Drill stepped in and then the guy took a swing at the Drill.
Bad idea he got smacked. This was the 70's and they could still touch you.

Hell, they still “touched” you in 2004. Being in the height of the GWOT missions, and all of our drills having just rotated back from combat, they flat told us day one that they were gonna teach us to stay alive by all means necessary. It wasn’t full on fight club or anything but they definitely pushed the envelope

Thanks, but I’ll likely never afford a numbers car. But I’ll print this just in case
Sometimes I see someone looking for a numbered carb for a certain year and they're looking for the wrong one.
I just PM them the reference and try and point them in the right direction.

Not by name but I imagine something similar. Hahah
So the barracks we were in were brand spanking new. We were the first group to go thru them. The red clay surrounding the building, they were trying to get grass to grow in. But there was a lot of gravel in the clay, so we’d play “gravel collector”. Or Low crawling, usually while it’s raining, and picking up every piece of gravel we found

So last week, Walmart had a warehouse burn to the ground, tonight, a week later to the day, a shoot out in the Walmart just across town from the warehouse...
