No. Get a front sway bar. Even a stock one.
Other than for getting the last fraction of perfomance for drag racing or rock crawling, a front sway bar is the best single improvement one can make to the handling.
Will a 73-76 A body one fit? If so, I have one that @WV64Signet can have free

I don't think so... The early a-body sway bars are different than the 67 and later design...
Yeah, I think the later ones went thru the K frame and the early ones were mounted UNDER the K. I may have that backwards

Morning.

quick up date on the FIL.

Tuesday, a rock wall gave way and he fell over 40 ft onto a limestone ledge. He was awake and alert thru the entire recuse and recovery. He has a broken neck, but has regained SOME feeling and movement in his one leg, and both arms, exceptions being his fingers and his right leg.

No prognosis at this time as it’s still too soon to know. they won’t know until swelling goes down.
Thanks for all the prayers
Lets hope he keeps getting better every day.

I went with the two-piece bushings that were on the struts that I purchased from @65 Dartman
Easier. Assuming they are the correct dimensions. The front and back bushings should be different.
Steve Wall showed that here

Making A-Body Strut rod Bushings Work

As far as sway bar tabs, I'd consider that completely seperate from engine changes.v-8 is slightly heavier but moves the weight back a little.
The trick if welding tabs is to locate them so the link is vertical in the normal ride position, not with the wheels hanging.

Those don't look factory either.
The fine thread strut is correct for the earlier cars.
But the bushing looks fat to my eyes, and the fine thread struts have the washers face in to retain the bushings.

This photo is from oldmanmopar posted or maybe one I took at his place

You'll see what he shows matches the FSMs

He posted these, I can see now that's not in the shed.
The spacing is different withthe coarse threaded struts as you can see

The bushings had offsets that fit into the K frame hole and the washers were marked stating which side to face toward the bushing. Might be a later version or something. The two I took off the car were not the same (back to my theory that the left side of the suspension was wrecked at some point)

After market ones probably copied from the coarse threaded version.
Supposed to cup in.

B Body similar but two piece design. Notice the front and rear bushings are different!

Fixed

Cost more for gas than for the straw. :BangHead:

Happy Birthday!
Won’t be for long. Wheat crops took a HUGE hit this year. Straw is forecast to go from 3.50 a bale average to possible as high as 12-15 around here

That’s what We’re all hoping. What we do know is that he was on the “safe” side of the marked safety line. By a lot. If he’d been 3 ft closer, the trajectory would have sent over the 2nd ledge and down an addition 90-150 feet

That hard rock mining has it's dangers. MSHA the mine safety bunch was just gettin' started when I got into that sorta thing. It was fun, but it really didn't hurt my feelings when I moved away from that granite quarry. River mining had fewer catastropies lying in wait . I didn't have to look for the long unbroken yellow wires in the bench I was mining to avoid an explosion in the river .
