Stop in for a cup of coffee

I like the neon better but mine will never make it there. I have the sea mist paint already bought

When I bought the paint The paint number came out like the Neon which wasn't right. I didn't have to buy it because it was wrong. I wish I would have now.

Well I have a few things to do and then I am heading to bed. Good night peoples

Thunderstorms are rolling in here now.

I love a good thunderstorm...as long as it isn't trying to rip the roof off of the house.

We had them last night. Some good wizz-bangers.... Enjoy the show... It lasted a little over 45 minutes here last night...

It's pretty much over now. We had nice rolling thunder and good lightning that wasn't too close. Just some leftover thunder and lightning now and a steady rain...just the way I like a Spring t-storm to be. :)

Good Morning Guys! First Cup of Coffee today.....tasty...
Good morning to you sir  I was just about to log off and get me about 5 hours of sleep and enjoy my first cup at 5am, it is 12:06 am here in Arkansas :)

you know ....for the first time I have had a slight tinge of wanting a new car.

you guys need to spank me or something to get me to thinking right ....

I drove my friend's new VW Beetle Coupe and that thing is sooooo nice OMG

I didn't realize these things were in my price range too......OMG something is wrong with me ...I need to build that 360 and forget this new stuff!!!!

New cars ARE nice. Especially german ones. They're nothing like 70:s Dusters but they are nice.

Funny what 50 years of massive technical development can do. Imagine putting all that effort into getting rid of fossile fuels. We could've be running zero emission for twenty years.

Probably stepping on a sore thumb or two there but hey, I'm far enough away to feel secure. :D

You gone to bed, memike?

Very good morning to you, DieWilde13! I haven't seen you here before. Did I just happen to miss it or are you joining us just now?

I would have to admit that when it comes to new cars .....the only other car other than the VW that I would look at is the Fiat 500

The new "muscle cars" do nothing for me, I already have plenty of old muscle and I don't need to prove anything to anyone, like how teenage boys go around with something to prove lol ......I want something cute and pretty to get from point A to point B.

I don't really care about Gas mileage because gas in America is so cheap........people just like to complain. So gas mileage is not the motive .....CUTE is the motive and I think either the beetle coupe or the Fiat have CUTE!!! I actually like the old ones too LOL

Good morning, Rani!

The old ones are adorable. Completely useless but adorable. My uncle used to have one and my parents borrowed it once for a 1200 km trip. Worst driving experience ever, dad says. It had like 30 horses and would barely pul itself upp a hill with 2 people and a couple of suitcases.

The new ones are most likely a better choice. :D

I'll be taking that radio apart today. See what it had for dinner.

We have a 2010 Audi A4 wagon, 143 hp diesel (yes, one of those). It is a fantastic automobile.

I always resisted new cars because my adoptive parents wanted me in a new car BUT ....at the time they brought it up, I was a lot younger and they were willing to pay for a new car for me IF I gave up my old dart and most of the project cars which is absolutely and completely out of the question. There is no way I am turning my back on my 68 dart like that.

Now I am a bit older and i graduated college and have my own job so they don't seem to have as strong of an opinion anymore about what I do. My dad has a 2013 Mercedes S550 and it's ok but I really think I like more "simple" cars ....I don't need computer this and computer that......I prefer manual transmission and an engine that I can get my hands on stuff and work on it myself. I don't need gadgets either, I usually switch the radio off because when I am driving, I like to pay attention to the road and listen to the car.:steering:

I don't like leather ...I prefer a more "simple" cloth interior ....I don't even understand what is the thing with leather ....it's freezing in the cold and hot as heck in the summer ....not very comfy IMO

You're absolutely right about the gadgets and I also drive with the radio turned off 95% of the time.

In terms of noise level, handling, brakes, durability and reliability, the world has come a long, long way since 1968. Not to mention safety. Putting 700 hp in the hands of teenagers was never a good idea but it was way worse in 1968. No sway bars, drum brakes, no demolition zones, crappy tires.

New cars sure are less inspiring but ... Well, it's a whole different thing.

Oh, and I love the new Challenger.

HA!! my 68 dart is the definition of simple ...it still has the slant six one barrel with an 833 OD. Still has the small drum brakes all around and no power steering, no power brakes, no sway bars. When I got it, it had 13 inch wheels but I changed them to 14 inch steelies with dog dishes. Still has the small bolt pattern.

I put some correct 68 bucket seats in it and drove it the way it was. I was going to V8 swap and "upgrade" everything but never got around to it because the car always ran so reliable just the way it is lol.

I don't really do much highway driving, most of my driving is done on farm roads or in a nearby city of 100k people and traffic is never all that bad.
