Adjust the cables for sure.
will do.. after rebuilding the trans and all the other fun stuff:) My park lever goes down almost all the way and stops liek it's stuck, never engages the park pawl.. was going to check it out once the trans is out.

K.. i see that spring hiding in the back there.... will make sure to look for it.. My desire to keep the pushbutton really made this car much more work and money to rebuild than it should have been :(

Just remember, roll cages are meant for helmets and anyone in the back seat should be made sure not to be able to contact the bar in any accident. Front seats are important but a jungle gym for the back seat people could be scary
That’s why I stopped before putting one in mine

I pulled an extra pushbutton mechanism from a 65 barracuda...so I have a spare.
Nice to have parts :) I didn't know the lever is supposed to pop up on it's own.. kinda thought it did but mine doesn't so figured it's all just manual

How hard is it to get the pushbutton assembly out of a dash:?

74 degrees at 7 am and 100 percent humidity. The storms gonna eat today

Yeah. I replaced the cables during this effort. They weren't inexpensive
Yeah. my shifter cable seems fine, not sure on the park one yet. If my back ever stops hurting i will have to get the motor/trans out sooner than later and get to work

You bastages... someone bout that spring while i was looking stuff up :)
