And speaking of cans ..

Herbs Parts rattle cans of engine paint... any thoughts? They have the 64 Red that I want to use on the 273
I've bought from him in the past. It's been more then a few years. I believe he is local to me.
Good products.

Got a bunch of running around to do tomorrow. NAPA pick up the battery I ordered for the Dart and then to Hagerstown to the bobcat dealer to get hydraulic fluid. Probably some other stops in between……

Never had a problem spraying a block with engine high heat paint but My opinion is make sure it's ok for direct to bare metal. Wash the block down before painting with prep solvent and dry it with a lint free rag.

Not very productive today……worked out, other than that not much.
My work out was mowing the lawn and one hell of a bouncy ride on the O turn. One day I was drinking a beer jumped on the lawn mower put the beer in the cup holder took off and my lap had more beer in it than the bottle.
Lesson learned DON"T DRINK AND DRIVE.

Just checked and hops did put a sticker in with my distributor :) so.. day is getting better.. i hadn't really looked at the package yet

Yea that works just making sure you don't have any grease or flaky paint on it and not sure if your taking all the paint off the block and if not sand the paint with a scratch pad.
Paint reducer works for cleaning before painting the block and Alcohol.
Only time you might have problems with paint on an engine block from what Iv'e seen is on the freeze plugs. a smooth surface and sand them with a scratch pad even if there new.

K.. not trying to make anyone jealous but.... just pulled my 318 apart... so.. here's some sweet **** for ya.. BTW.. timing chain only about 2" of play... not the worst i have seen, cam spun like butter but i had to fight to get it out due to gunk on the edges of the cam journals.. bearings look great except one missing some babbitt, but.. that's just less drag on the cam! winning!
Rods pass the wiggle test.. they feel right in spec (no bad heat coloring or anything.. so.. not worried bout it)

P.S. this is just a temp motor to get the car mobile, just putting on the TF's and a roller cam to get it drivable.. this motor is going to have a short but painful life :)
Sooo.. here's some pics.. it smells like it looks..

Checking in have a GD's softball game later start time 9:15 :wtf: who schedules 9-10 year olds to play that late. It will be close to 11 by the time we get home. She's spending the night with us so Mom doesn't have to get up and drop her off here at 6:30 am. Don't know what all the other parents do who have more kids than the one playing??

Busy day planting stuff for a couple hours and then hit the range for a couple hours. Was set to do some swimming at the pool but thunderstorms were moving in so that was cancelled. Sooo went and hit a few more balls.

Dang... ya got a Klingon motor!!

Actually read somewhere that they'd use a number of different things to stamp... symbols and such. That's very cool
