So went through the sun tachs yesterday, out of 6 made 4 good ones. Got the mower deck finished just need to fluid film it today and install it. Man there were some zerk fittings that the grease holes were not drilled through. Reminds me of Mopar for sure.
 
Holiday weekend what's everyone doing??
Nothing special here Cheryl and I for the past 15 years have taken the MNL for several cemetery visits placing flowers.
This year her brother (even Cheryl doesn't like her brother) is driving the MNL (treats me better than my own mother) to town.
Her nephew and I'll say it again HER 26-year-old nephew (goofy whinny Gen X kid) is going along also.
When this plan was announced a couple weeks ago, I quickly realized that's a party of four.
I bowed out telling the MNL it was going to be a great family only opportunity never done before and she agreed.
Not a word Cheryl could say well publicly in from of Mom...haha. I told her I'd make her first drink when she got back home. I caught chit.
Other than that BBQ and probably some golf.
 
When i dated, it was almost all redheads... they own my soul. and i find if fun not knowing if someone is going to hug you or kill you today...
 
BTW.. do you guys gasket your oil pumps on small blocks? for some reason i don't recall using a gasket before on the pump... Also... i need to replace a couple of rusted core plugs.. indian head ok or is there a better sealer?

P.S. do all 318 use the same size core plugs? figure i better ask before i order...
 
I think so 1 5/8? Karl would know for sure. Front and back are different sized for sure. Good time to add a petcock in the block where that plug is.

yeah, just replacing 2 big ones on the side... wanted to make sure they didn't change from 1 5/8 to 1 11/16 in like 1977 for no reason at all... well.. just to annoy me :) and didn't think bout a petcock

Hate to say this the outside look new, never know what is in the passage side. Good time to blow all the scale out that rests on the bottom of the jackets.

Also wondering if these will clear the mancini/harland sharp rocker arms..

I try to use the copper ones if I can, they seem to seat better and wont corrode. Seriously blow out the water jackets tons of crap in there. Pull the pipe plugs before you do it. Usually a inch of crap in there even after boiled out.

yup, already planning to blow out the water jackets, i have 2 freeze plugs out and almost nothing in the jackets so far.. pretty happy with that
 
Thats great. No one ever takes those plugs out when they flush a engine. Really gets crap out.
