Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well Cummins FSM states 89 inch lbs. i was set at 45 in lbs
45in lb is less than 4ft lb. You should be able to pull that with 1 finger on a 3/8 ratchet. Even at the full 89, that is not much force at all. If you are damaging a 6mm fastener in good condition, you had to be way over. You should be able to tell it's too much long before that.

Cummins is still kicking my ***.

Well more of the NAPA brand torque wrench. I didn’t have a torque wrench that went below 110 inch pounds so I went and bought a brand new one. Click style. Yeah it’s junk. Cummins specs call for 89 IN pounds to hold down the injectors. But to two step in, first in 45 in lbs, then to 89 in lbs. set the torque wrench to 45 in lbs, there is no ft lbs markings on this one. Clearly says inch pounds.

Each injector has two bolts, Snapped the second bolt right off, went to remove the hold down and noticed the first one had bent and twisted. This led to 3 hours of very carefully extracting the bolt remnant from bolt hole.

Decided to test the torque wrench in a vise. Was able to finally get a click at 35 pounds of weight hanging on the end of the shaft. This pos going back to Napa tomorrow

Sometimes the old beam style torque wrenches are more accurate....

If you buy one from a salesman named Jim, it will be a Jim Beam...

Women think I have a sexy body and admire my waist...

I was talking to a few women in a bar, and when I walked away from their table I heard one of them say, "What a waste"....

Ahhhh, I see I'm first today. Up early taking the wife crabbing with my buddy Billy. We run a trotline actually two of them 1200 ft each. Should catch at least a bushel and a half or two in a few hours. They don't catch crabs like this in Vietnam. They catch everything with one big net over there so this should be fun for her to see. Okay here come the jokes about the crabs I know it.

Morning!
Cool morning again. Float plane taking off, waking up the neighbourhood.
Pulled grille and right fender off studebaker.
I never get out and putt around in the evening.
Kim decides to hang out. Gets bored, and wants to go trim trees. I said, very nicely i may add- ok. Please connect trailer to truck and load it as you trim, as i dont want to be cleaning up the mess you leave behind. Project ended abruptly.

Now i wanted to go work on truck instead of watching tv. I planned to go crank tunes and get **** done. Without hinderance. Am i the asshole?
Kim was falling asleep in her recliner, btw.

After dealing with 10’s of thousands of fasteners, there are specific bolts i use a torque wrench on. 6 mm is never one of them.

I'm about to finish cleaning up the engine bay and get it prepped for paint. Going the 2K rattlecan route... Thinking SprayMAX as Eastwood doesn't have a gloss white.

I need to get off the fence on the new wiring harness and get it ordered.
