89 is ridiculous for that fastener. 8 mm in an intake manifold is 11 ft lbs/132 inch lbs.Well Cummins FSM states 89 inch lbs. i was set at 45 in lbs

45in lb is less than 4ft lb. You should be able to pull that with 1 finger on a 3/8 ratchet. Even at the full 89, that is not much force at all. If you are damaging a 6mm fastener in good condition, you had to be way over. You should be able to tell it's too much long before that.Well Cummins FSM states 89 inch lbs. i was set at 45 in lbs
Cummins is still kicking my ***.
Well more of the NAPA brand torque wrench. I didn’t have a torque wrench that went below 110 inch pounds so I went and bought a brand new one. Click style. Yeah it’s junk. Cummins specs call for 89 IN pounds to hold down the injectors. But to two step in, first in 45 in lbs, then to 89 in lbs. set the torque wrench to 45 in lbs, there is no ft lbs markings on this one. Clearly says inch pounds.
Each injector has two bolts, Snapped the second bolt right off, went to remove the hold down and noticed the first one had bent and twisted. This led to 3 hours of very carefully extracting the bolt remnant from bolt hole.
Decided to test the torque wrench in a vise. Was able to finally get a click at 35 pounds of weight hanging on the end of the shaft. This pos going back to Napa tomorrow

It’s all I could find locally in stock that wasn’t harbor freight
They don't catch crabs like this in Vietnam. Okay here come the jokes about the crabs I know it.
After dealing with 10’s of thousands of fasteners, there are specific bolts i use a torque wrench on. 6 mm is never one of them.45in lb is less than 4ft lb. Morning guys... totally wasted day yesterday.. and it was perfect out Oh well.. motiviation is pretty low.. at the moment i need to sand the paint in my engine bay or fit my carpet and i don't wanna do either
Yeah... i was getting used to a new spray gun.. all the **** i read said use 25psi... i orange peeled the **** out of it.. i dropped to 15psi and it flowed great, that was at the end of painting though.. so i will have to fix it all now.. no biggy just more timeI'm about to finish cleaning up the engine bay and get it prepped for paint. Going the 2K rattlecan route... Thinking SprayMAX as Eastwood doesn't have a gloss white.
I need to get off the fence on the new wiring harness and get it ordered.
For a grade 12?89 is ridiculous for that fastener. 8 mm in an intake manifold is 11 ft lbs/132 inch lbs.
I recommend copious amounts of coffeeGood morning, there are days I wake up crabby, will a doctor help?
