when I painted the bottom my son wanted me to send him pictures.
I painted it with a spray gun but I couldn't resist grabbing a paint brush and giving him ****. lol

Many times and if you don't want an edge between the paint you clear over the whole car and sand it and re clear it. But that all depends on what you are doing.

Is there any reference manual that shows that?

In the mean time, if you wanted to improvise, you could pick a point of reference in the photo for a known length [headlight or mirror] and then use that as a unit of measure along the same vertical

Why?

Well the old lacquer paints were user friendly and easy to repair.
I haven't done a full paint since forever.
From what I have been reading the new so call lacquer paints look like a headache.
