Oh T.C.
Depends.
They used to say never go by the number. Call the converter people, tell them the setup as acurately as you can. Let them identify the t/c based on torque, hp and gearing.
I thought I was smart going to a tighter setup on the T/A T.C. in the 'cuda when I had them overhaul it.
Wrong!
There is less forgiveness in the tuning curves with a tighter converter.
It's a little bit like having a clutch the always engages a bit too soon.
As a result it was a major contributor to my long journey into timing and carburation.
messaged you . forgot the saws.So wait until you know more. Pretty expensive.
Same converter will 'stall' at different speeds depending on the torque and load.
100 percent.....Bought my 69 Vert, built already with a semi hot 340 in it. Just added a PCV and cross over exhaust, Was ***** to tune after that. Convertor was so tight, it was right on the edge of having to be replaced...There is less forgiveness in the tuning curves with a tighter converter.
Does he also have the stock converter by chance?BTW... friend wants to go camping next weekend so i picked a place 5 hours away.. which happens to be 30 mins from a guy with a '65 one year only trans i need to have a slip yoke and get rid of the flange so.. make it worth the trip
Just saw that.messaged you . forgot the saws.
he doesn't... does have a 3.91 sure grip for $150 though.. needs a rebuild.. i won't be picking it up though.. the 9.5" will be fine.. much better than stock no matter which setup i useDoes he also have the stock converter by chance?
Ouch that is a LOW blow hahathanks DAVE!
That’s not bad at all. I wouldn’t be booing that timelineso.. FTI is 2 weeks out on new converters.. boo
True that. A converter like that is pretty much custom built. If you would have one of everything they built in stock there would be lots of $$$$ in inventory just setting. Leave that for warehouses like Summit. That’s not bad at all. I wouldn’t be booing that timeline
Yep, stick a fork in her. She's done!
ok sounds good.Just saw that.
Well you had someone waiting for you.
Next visit to your place or youse to down here.
Got an appoint for PT at Vincera on Tues
Those are the folks who did the hernia surgery and PT. Top Notch. Worth the cost.
Thurs to see the ortho doc in Chelteham- so maybe then.
maybe so, but truth hurtsOuch that is a LOW blow haha
how old is that?
maybe so, but truth hurts
No clue. A buddy of mine gave it to me a couple years back during that squatter situation. I’m guessing at least 60-70. Maybe from the 1950s going from the set up. Either way, it’s toast . Rusted out at the weld.how old is that?
Chris, you could always weld it up. (use the fluxer)No clue. A buddy of mine gave it to me a couple years back during that squatter situation. I’m guessing at least 60-70. Maybe from the 1950s going from the set up. Either way, it’s toast . Rusted out at the weld.
