Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well I discovered yesterday that the transmission in the dart is slipping. Unfortunately that is not something I can fix at my house due to the lack of space.
I believe in putting the rear tires up off the ground and let it run in gear, top off trans fluid, put a little pull on the kick down rod , let it go threw the gears, set the kick down then drive it to test, if the kick down is not hooked up low pressure will mimic a slipping trans, don't run it that way or it will eat those clutches and bands up.
Torqueflites are pretty forgiving. Often times a fluid and filter change and tighten up the bands to sprc are all that's needed. Oh and make sure the kickdown is adjusted properly.
True this !!

Morning all, day 2 of Pioneer Days. Yesterday did swap meet, today wife therapy this morning then go back look at over 400 tractors, 500 gas engines, stationary steam engines, and everything else in between. Pioneer Village has all the antique buildings of a small town. I drive my 59 Fury then no charge exhibitors
Morning Pete that sounds like fun.

Sure ya do, put the Chevelle out in the yard!
hehehehe
That's forbidden  That only sits outside if I can finish the work on the dart in a day. I can't guarantee I would be able to get the trans done in that time frame. I told him to go park the Chevelle at his parents.

I am changing the valve covers tomorrow, and fixing a few interior seals, so I will ask my husband to give me a hand trying that. and just making sure everything else is tightened up with it. I checked the fluid last week and it was reading full, but the fluid has a burnt smell to it.

I have bought a few Mopars cheap because the transmission was supposed bad. A service and adjustment and good to go.

Mitch, on shovels the oil filter was designed for return side. Be sure you get filter accordingly. The modern Harley’s oil filter is on pressure side so big difference in oil filter/microns. I would look close behind tranny and see if there is not one hidden there? We typically weld in a mount at bottom of down tubes and relocate them there then put a cover over them for simplicity sake.
Yeah, it's definitely got no filter on it anywhere. I've been all over this bike like white on rice. They make a nice mount that goes right by the voltage regulator that also takes the filter. I think I will use one of those. I do know that there are different microns for the filters on early versus late bikes. Don't worry I got this. Lol

You'll have to post your time slips on those Demon runs to the office
Will be super slow. I hate driving it in the dark with 10 miles of back country roads and standing corn yet. Maybe the rat rod is a better fit.

Dam just got off the phone with CJMP those brass battery terminals have a small size clamp and will not work on a regular terminal! :BangHead:

What's the deer population out there like?

Standing corn does make it like you're driving in a tunnel. Do you have heat in the RatRod?
