The ports on the LD340 are taller to match the intake ports on the 340 (and up) cylinder heads.
Also, the runners from the upper and lower planes go to different intake ports, they are swapped. I have no idea if that makes any difference, I would guess not. Unless that change made it possible to make the runners a little longer.
And the plenum is larger on the 340.

If you put them side-by -side, you can see the port design is slightly different...

But they both work well.

I can get some pictures of both side by side later and post...

The LD4B is made to match the smaller 273/318 ports (66 and later bolt pattern) and does not have mounting bosses for the stock coil position. You must relocate the coil to use this one...

The D4B is made for the small port 64-65 273 heads with the smaller 5/16" intake bolts at the different angle than the 66 and later intakes. I'm not sure about the coil bosses on this one....

All good intakes for a small block. Either will run well on the small block, even if the ports are not "matched"....

Yes, welcome. We just come here day or night to hang out. It's a fun place to be. Many here have forged some pretty solid friendships. Heck, they may all show up to install a hoist in your garage. Lol

gotta admit - I firmly believe that you make a big deal out of swearing in front children and make it a "thing" that is a big time "no no", then they will want to swear that much more - - if, on the other hand, you don't allow it to be an issue, but also aren't running around swearing like a sailor.. they will tend to be less inclined to swear.. in the long run, we all grow up and learn the bad words - ya can't stop it, only try to curb it some..

Thanks very much. LOL i spoke to the city and they wont let me build a new garage. All i can do is lift what i have and have a new concrete footing installed 1.5 feet higher. That would give me a 10 foot ceiling then we could have a hoist party. lol
