Stop in for a cup of coffee

Our weather plate if full for the next few days. Snow, rain, thunder storms, and 70 mph wind gusts. The wind from the wrong direction too. Talkin' a lot of future firewood laying on the ground in the next couple days. Wait, this is Ca., they'll just grind it up and fill a landfill with it.
Looks like high 40+ and sunny for the next few here. Could be 60 by next Saturday. Cold nights for a while though...

Interesting

Woohoo! They just added a "Gale Watch" to the weather map. How about 20' breakers on the beach 12 miles from here? Amtrak better keep an eye out, their rails are right on the bluffs many points south of here.
All closed between Dana point and oceanside.

No paid work today... Gonna clean the stove pipes and bottom of chimney.. Wife texted me at work the other night that it backed up and got the house smokey. She isnsisted it was blocked. The way our chimney is set up, there is no space below where the stove pipe goes in, so that is possible. We use the creosote logs and they can make a lot of stuff fall down. She burned one about a week ago, so I thought maybe that was what happened. Pulled the pipe off yesterday and its got some crap in there, but not that bad and nowhere near blocked. Have no idea why it backed up.
Dryer, exhaust fans barometric pressure an temperature are all factors in maintaining good draft.
When i had a woodstove i would make sure i had a good hot fire occasionally.

So, spent all morning in shop, made an arbor for my bead roller dies. Now i true them up and modify/polish them. The cheap kit dies are black, the illusion of them being hardened. Soft as anything.

Well my sister is heading back home to Washington on the train and will miss her but did have a good visit.
Back to somewhat normal now.

Radar says, "Showers just getting to the beach, but nothing catastrophic, yet." Barely a breeze and that's OK, doubt that will last though. I see inverted patio furniture in my immediate future  . They are guessing rain possible all of this coming week now also.

Would guess it's better than BV and Sprite. Looks tasty.
So good I am putting together an order for another. It's a barrel pick and only a couple left.

Grab it while you can. Looking at another bottle of Rabbit Hole next time I'm in a big liquor store.

I welded in the angle bars today and added the center roof bar. Taking Marie out for pizza and beer with friends, so it was just a short garage time. Tomorrow will be a bit more.

The guys that built the Baja Bug I raced were also body shop guys. Don't get me wrong, Greg an Eddy built some nice race cars. I'm looking the car over right after we got it back and see this little curly Q thing in the roof right above the welds on the main loops of the roll cage. :wtf: that's metal and it's attached to the roof. I get out the flashlight and look closer. They had taken the air chisel and cut a square hole in the roof and just kinda curled it out of the way to make those welds. Pounded it back into shape, welded it up, mudded it up, and painted it

I almost did the same...or cut the roof off entirely.
