I'm a dog... not too upset bout it..When i was a kid the chinese restaurant we used to go to had all the year/animal stuff on the place mats :)

Good to hear you have the welding finished. Maybe a pinched nerve. I would get it checked out.
Thanks Ray. Welding done is a relative term. I got the engine bars to A pillar bars cut and welded in. I have many feet of tubing to cut, bend and put in yet and lots of sheet metal. I think the firewall can go in now that these bars are in. Have to wait on the other bars until I get more inside things done just to make getting in and out if the car easier.

Dragon is my year....so this being Dragon year - that's good, right? please

GSS what is that car being built for? some serious pipe in there...

Shifted my working hours by 1/2 an hour, now trying to adjust to getting up at 3:45 (later), will probably take me 2 weeks lol!

Well it has changed from a 1968 Charger being built to resemble a Stock Car from back in the day, to a fun street car that I wish to fulfill a dream of driving at Bonneville during Speed Week. I want to leave the starting line in a car I built - that's goal one. Then the ultimate goal is 200mph, which should mostly mean finding HP and getting the necessary safety items needs as speed increases. (fire suppression, hans devise, netting, parachute, lexan windows, etc). I am trying to build it right for a faster speed, then upgrade hp and bolt ons as speed increases. If for some reason I don't make it to the salt, then I still have my street car with a nod to stock car racing when it was the best.

I wonder what kind of gears for that at Bonneville, tall I would think, maybe just have them in for the runs/goal speed?

Eric left this out

I have 2.94 in there now. But I have a Franklin quickchange with 2.50 gears that likely go in.

Yes, while we were discussing how to build the HP needed. I figure about 800hp will be needed. Bonneville has some very strange quirks - you have to unlearn everything you know about racing. Heavy is good, long ways to get to speed, long ways to slow down - never more traction than wet black top.

It's

cafedumonde.png Monday!
Good morning :D

Up the beach a ways, about Hearst Castle, they have a "Hurricane Wind" warning  85 mph winds possible.
Well if the ocean rises and floods most of California, there’s maybe 2, areas I’d care about, yours and Tim’s. And maybe Steve Dulcich and Frieburger. So 4 . The rest of that state, zero sympathies.

Well to help you out, Frieburgers Camaro that finally broke the 200 mph mark has a big block Chevy boosted and it’s pushing 1200 hp. In a tube chassis, fiberglass car.

So, here's the rest of the story on my Yamaha. Took it to the Yamaha dealership because they usually work fairly cheap. They checked it out. I knew it needed a rear tire because it wouldn't hold air, but he also showed me how the front tire was just about completely worn out. So, it needs two tires, an air filter, and an oil change. He showed me the dipstick on it. It had zero oil in it. :mob: Also needs front brake pads. Then when they are finished with all the work on the bike check everything out and adjust everything properly. They will wash the bike properly. He said it would take 2 hours, so I hailed a cab and came back to the house for a while. He told me the bill will be 2.8 million dong. That's a lot of money for an average Vietnamese person. Approximately $115 USD. Lol. I love Vietnam. But I don't think I'm going to let anybody in my family keep my bike while I'm away again..:mob:
Sounds like it never cooled off while you were gone.

I left quickly is all I can say....... and american is a third language also

Morning!
Weather is holding. Everything is a mess, ice and mud.
No Studebaker this week, 67 Firebird, brake and fuel lines.

He ran 260mph in that car and not fiberglass. Typical Camaro of that vintage will weigh between 6-7000lbs for Bonneville. So, if fiberglass, there was ballast added somewhere.
