Close as in rusty Ford heads are close enough? They look like they can be saved, but what do you plan to use those on?Close is the pluss.
I know you don't live in town but how big is Halifax?Close is the pluss.
I figure that when he and Marilyn go to town the population is reduced by 50%I know you don't live in town but how big is Halifax?
We shouldn't. Shame on us.you guys talking ford now .....
Actually it is large in sq miles.I know you don't live in town but how big is Halifax?
Lon will wander through if you put up the Bat signalThats one thing we dont have on this thread is a Transmission guy.
All the later models like you have are good. THey all have the part throttle kick down in the valve body. THey aren't new enough to be lock ups. (1977 when lock ups started I believe)I checked my pile and I have a 3 904 transmissions I can use, which I know are good cores and there wasn't anything wrong with them other than being in parts cars or just not needed.
A 1972 ( I know least about this unit)
1974 out of a valiant I parted and is the numbers matching unit to the engine I am building
or a 1975 out of a running (at the time) 75 dart.
Is there much change over those years and any reason one might be better than another?
@lkopaska stops in from time to time. He built Fred's 904
looks good... cheap too....
I am not really trying to be cheap on purpose ...but I am working with stock stuff and my expectations are about stock.looks good... cheap too....
Taking a little risk not knowing how good they are inside but you could drain the fluid, do a band adjustment. Install new input and output seals and speedo and shift shaft seals and run it. It would probably outlast the car.I am not really trying to be cheap on purpose ...but I am working with stock stuff and my expectations are about stock.
If it ran as good as it did in 1980, id be happy and making miles.
I daily drove a 68 dart with a slant six and OD833 for years until I got rear ended by a subaru in Colorado springs, Co
Now I have a mercedes which is nice and powerful and comfortable but that's more my dad making me drive that because he thinks it's "safe"
I want something old again, something kinda ratty but with personality
Like Mike said, can try it if you knew they worked. The one in the Demon was in a junkyard in the back of a school bus. I rolled the dice as I was told the former owner hated mopar so he only kept what he knew was good. Never changed a seal or anything. Works great!I am not really trying to be cheap on purpose ...but I am working with stock stuff and my expectations are about stock.
