Stop in for a cup of coffee

Couple pics from the fishing trip, limited out on Halibut and Ling Cod, caught 23 Rockfish for the boat. Went way out and it was 15-20 miles just to get to the ocean from Sekiu then headed to within 2-3 miles of Continental Shelf, I ended up getting sick but felt great after that (even took dramamine). We were running so hard to get out there my feet were lifting off the deck going over the rollers. My son had a couple of doubles, one with Halibut, I had a double ling cod and caught the first but

Yes. That’s why that lower area is now called Dixie Alley. And they’ve shifted tornado alley east and north. What’s really interesting is the shift has really happened since about 2000. In part due to the massive outbreaks in 2004 and 2011 but if you look at SPC data, the top 10 busies tornado seasons have been since the mid 1990s.

  1. 2011: 1,894 tornadoes
  2. 2004: 1,820 tornadoes
  3. 2008: 1,685 tornadoes
  4. 2010: 1,543 tornadoes
  5. 2017: 1,522 tornadoes
  6. 1998: 1,440 tornadoes
  7. 2003: 1,374 tornadoes
  8. 1999: 1,364 tornadoes
  9. 1992: 1,312 tornadoes
  10. 2009: 1,305 tornadoes
Something interesting I found in the news this morning.

The frequency of Tornado formation
Another thing to keep in mind that they also changed what they counted as a tornado in data. EF0s are now counted in that as are QSL funnels that touch the ground, even if for a second. This change happened in the early 2000s when they adopted the Enhance fujita scale vs the older Fujita-Peterson scale.

So more tornadoes are naturally counted and the prime location of QSL and EF0 tornadoes…. East of the Mississippi River

Ling Cod were highly prized in this part of the beach. I had co-workers that went out for them almost every weekend for the extra $$.

Figured fry up some taters, eggs, and Bologna. Parm cheese. Then hit the Wiring on the Valiant.

Oh no son. They’re hurting bad. The lowest bonus they have listed right now is for Human Resources Specialist and it’s at 70k. Even security forces is offering 90k for a 6 year extension.

Weather specialist is 110,000
Aircraft machinists is 75,000

To many years now I bet. The schools you have to go through have a wait and them most are 4-6 months long. But worth a try right?

Real curious to see what kind of turnout they get at the speedway with that open practice. Many of the local racers with the Covid interruption and then the issues the track owner was having as he operated outside his county permits, racers sold their iron and retired.
