The stock one can go either way, the rear disks have to be adjusted to a slower fluid flow or they will lock the same as the front and you can skid. The distro valve is just a bit different inside. Not sure how
 
I thought prop valve was always needed for disc/drum, but not for either if front and back are same??
No, a prop valve just regulates the pressure to ensure the brakes engage correctly, am adjustable one let's you fine tune your front to rear brake bias. Drum/disc, disc/disc, doesn't matter with an adjustable one.
