I might try bigger screws to mount my outside mirror. If that plan doesn't work out I may try something like this? The button's should be flush enough. (I would hope)

Hey gang.

Well, I got the car started... needs a bit of adjustment, but otherwise, turn-key and vroom. Oil pressure is a little high ??

Transmission is shifting correctly on jack stands.... couple of minor leaks to attend to, one at the cooler line and the purgatory at the thermostat housing.

Apparently I boogered up the Tach wiring... it's not working
Awesome!! Congratulations!

So what is the problem with the mirror switch. I missed it
I unscrewed the broken mirror (not OEM) and found 4 holes. The 2 holes I can reuse are too big for the screws provided so I will try some larger screws. . The gasket won't cover the outer holes. I might just seal them with silicone for now. Or may be a small plastic plug.

The factory mirrors on those cars sucked so bad it is very very common to see later model mirrors on them. Mine has a pair of A body dart sport mirrors on it

I’d try some of that 3M body tape, the mirror body will likely cover up that hole.
