I actually had a 71 Petty blue 340 Duster - but it was a basket case - tis where I got my sharktooth grill from - and a few other pieces parts that I might still have.... wish I had known then what I know now - no way I would have scrapped it

it always strikes me as strange in the hot wheel and diecast car world that the 71 duster is put so high ...completely disregarding the 70.

Maybe it was because there was no sharktooth grille in 70 ??
 
well, the bad news is the 75 dart 318 to 360 conversion has to wait another month.

things sure are tight with health insurance bills and them clowning around. Might be cheaper to go back to poor college student. lol

possibly - I may be a little biased because I have one, but I think that grill is full on bad *** cool stuff

they are nice.

I am biased to the argent finished 70 standard grille. So often people put a grille emblem on 71 and 72 because they all have the hole for it ......but Grille emblems are for 70 only silly.

I have a wrecked 70 duster 340 that I was in the process of using the parts to make a 72 shell look like a 70 ....not sure about that project now.

The 70 340 car is CRUNCHED ...BIG TIME!!!!!

the 72 shell is it's only chance of re-incarnation.

Yep. The '70 grille makes it look like just another Valiant while the sharktooth grille really sets it apart.

in a way I am torn because I wanted to save the 70 340 duster as much as I can but then on the other hand ....72 is my favorite year for Chrysler Corp.

There is nothing they made in 72 that I don't like. The engineering advancements made in 72 were pretty good. (first year electronic ignition became standard on some V8's

first year for the new thin back bench seat that folded completely flat

72 was so awesome for the details

well - I spent a few hours fighting with that ornery old Harley of mine after I got home today - I won but it took a round or two outta me - and it is that time - on the flip ya'all - cyas!

the budget for design and product development so very little for the 70 duster. They had to use what they had and cut corners if possible.

Which is kinda funny that the pop out quarter windows were seen as cutting corners but I love those windows like that .....it was handy to pop them open for just the right amount of ventilation when I used to daily a duster

you be careful with those bikes .....Bikes are so dangerous, I get so worried every time I have a friend on one.
