Stop in for a cup of coffee

you be careful with those bikes .....Bikes are so dangerous, I get so worried every time I have a friend on one.
I say they're only as dangerous as the guy on them.. except for all the other idiots on the road. You have to pay attention driving a car, you REALLY have to pay attention on a bike. Everybody's blind spot is a concern, green lights don't necessarily mean it's safe, the other drivers don't see you, and white minivans are death waiting to happen. Just ride like everyone is out to kill you and it's fine. Been riding for 30+ years with very few incidents. Lot of guys get in trouble cuz they think they have the same rights as a car. Cost of being wrong sucks..

I stopped riding in my early 20s. I had to kick a guy's fender to get his attention and keep him from crushing me against a guard rail on the highway when he suddenly swerved into my lane. Shortly after that, I hit a patch of lose gravel that I couldn't see in a turn and slid across the road and barely got it under control at the far side of the opposite lane. If anyone had been coming the other way I'd have been road meat.

About a month later, a riding buddy had a similar thing happen except he clipped the guard rail on the opposite side of the road, flipped the bike and shattered his leg in 17 places. Took a year before he could walk again.

I decided then that bikes aren't for me and sold the one I had. Never rode again.

My bike was a 1972 Honda 500 four. It looked like this one...

I actually found one for sale a couple of months ago and book marked it. I seriously thought about buying it and just parking it in the garage as a museum piece to just remember what it was like. Maybe even ride it around our neighborhood at 25 mph just for giggles. But I knew I'd be too tempted to take it out further onto the road...

well - I spent a few hours fighting with that ornery old Harley of mine after I got home today - I won but it took a round or two outta me - and it is that time - on the flip ya'all - cyas!
Bet yours didn't whoop ya as bad mine whooped me lol

My car had a 904 lock-up when I bought it. I acquired a 727 and some SS springs for it this week. Does that count as progress for the week? lol

I worry a little about Tex. Why?.....because he hasn't made an effort to get out of Texas :)

You, KK, bother me a little too. I'm not a fan of your avatar. Mustard is not my sorta color. I squint when I look at it.

Maybe I'm an avatar bigot.

I helped a couple of friends get their motorcycle licences 10-15 years ago. Basically being a supervisor on practice drives. I used to - and still do - say that you should drive your bike as if no-one around you has seen you. Most of the time it's true, too.

That is, in my book, what a motorcycle truly looks like. The 750 version of that was what I was going to get before my friend talked me out of it and I ended up getting a bike with a stiffer frame (no steering wobble) and proper brakes in stead. They are beautiful, though. Especially in that color.

I agree on Karl's avatar. It's a little fuzzy.

kinda seems like a good burger would cheer me up right about now.

Being on fabo and being bored because no one is around is a great time to think about burgers.
