hEY ANY ONE KNOW IF I CAN YANK OUT THE SEAT BELT INTERFACE MODUAL AND KEEPTHE CAR RUNNING? everything ELSE with the system is out.
That's the only year it killed the car. others just had fasten belt idiot light. Cant be too hard to bypass/get rid of.

Yeah... Should just be a simple jumper from the Battery to the Coil....Right ??? :poke:

I was just wondering since the gauge cluster is finally out. That's in the way when I put the spedo cable back on and will make it so much easier without it.

No gun season here, next will be a slug hunt for Christmas, if one passes by the window next to me all I can do is shoot it with my cell phone

Thanks, cannot find any wiring diagrams on it and it has a couple of wires that look like 10 ga going to it, cant really start the car with the cluster out.
All it does is connect a circuit, so worse comes to worse, a jumper wire between the terminals will do it. They had it in the chargers starting in 73/74 and it's a popular thing to bypass . I'm sure there's instructions online somewhere. I'll see if I can find them

Looking at FSM now...Do you need driver buckled to start the car? not sure why, but ALL of your belt switches go through it!.:wtf:

All the harneses are out from the kick panel to the seats, and the engine comp. See anything that will disconnect the starter if I pull the box out. I did not see the diagram for it.

It was a DOT requirement for 74. They went away from it in 75/76 after so many complaints of it failing across all makes and models

Hey if you guys need window channels inserts rock auto has a bunch of sizes in the universal parts area 15 for 72" compared to 150 for a full set. Just stumbled across it this morning when I was up.

Looks like 12gauge brown and yellow end up on same terminal of the ignition switch. Way too early for me to figure out what you would need to do though. Yawn.

Yeh, well aware they got rid of it. not on my 75. I picked up a 74FSM cheap from another member when I was starting to work on mine. That contraption is the biggest PITA difference on the wiring diagrams. Connections are spread out over several pages. :BangHead:

I guess just pull it and see what happens, just have to lay the cluster back in I guess.

Can you send me the page of the diagram or post it?
the actual page it is on won't show you anything. every wire lands on another page. :BangHead: I will look at it more and see if I can simplify it. Maybe make a copy and write in where they go...

Window channel glass felts, one of mine broke putting the vent shades in, I am pretty sure one of those are it. Sure beats buying a set. Don't worry about the diagram, I will pull it and go from there. Just realized the other day this car had the fuel miser on it also. No wonder I could not find a diagram when I was re wiring the engine comp.

I was going through some boxes I have not been into for a while, wow did I find some stuff/junk. Prob do a garage sale post today 1-5$

Yeh, not used on Duster. No channels...

I think Chris had the best answer. The bypass fix is probably posted online.

I would bet if you pull it, It will not run. I'm sure it could be bypassed, but probably somewhat involved to get rid of. Just on a quick look, I see connections to neutral SS, start relay, ignition switch.... Your seat belt buzzer and light won't work if pulled. Don't know if that would be a hang up for inspection? I also see a connection to a 'interlock start wsitch' that may be another little black box tucked up in there somewhere... Just looks like a total PITA. This is a Plymouth book, but most drawings I have compared are same. I know we were trying to find something before you thought your fancy schmancy deluxe model might be different than reg Dart. If you ever see a cheap 75 FSM grab it and I'll trade...

I did change the routing of the NSS in the engine comp, not under the dash. I would just like to get rid of it for space but if it is that much of a pia to bypass everything screw it.
