Stop in for a cup of coffee

once you drive a 3/4 ton pickup ....you will never want to go back to a 1/2 or smaller.

long time ago I had a RAM 1500 5.2 and it was nice and comfy to drive ...almost like a big car. Loaded down with my 20 foot trailer and a dart on it, the rear of the truck would sag and the steering felt more floaty. The regular P -tires even seemed to pudge out on the back of the truck.

Then later I started hauling the same trailer with a 3/4 ton ....(actually a ferd with a diesel ) even with a B-body on the trailer, the rear of the truck isn't even phased and the ride is much more "solid" feeling and seems a whole lot safer.

Odd thing is....the gas mileage is the same loaded or not.

with the polara on the trailer, I was still jamming down the highway at 65 with no strain on the truck with a 3/4 ton........no way the 1/2 performs like that
The 2005 ram 3500 Cummins I've been driving has been averaging 22.8 mph!!! It weighs on the scales empty 8400 pounds. With a 720 mile range on a single tank, I love it

Course by the time I pay shipping, I'd be Better off to pay the 250 for the one semi local

My 4x4 1500 pulls cars just fine...

my 4x4 1500 does well enough. but i was spoiled ti a 2500 Duramax. That beast would haul all day and never breathe hard.. Hopefully they let me go back to a diesel for my next truck...

I've heard that the 3500's don't sit right until they have 1000 lb in the back..

U-haul full car trailer...
huh - I towed my 97 GMC to a swap meet with the truck I have now and on an open trailer it did ok with it, but a couple years later I found a broken leaf in the leaf springs.. I don't KNOW that it caused it but it's my prime suspect

we have 4 3500 GMC reg cab long beds in our fleet. they do ride like a buckboard empty but they will damn sure haul weight.. put a 4K pound pallet of corn seed in the back. it squated, but got her done... usually run a gooseneck with about 20K on it. hauls like a dream.

Has anybody seen carpet underneath the rear seat Pieced in three sections on the 68 barracuda?
Or is this a replacement carpet?

I've never had a problem with split carpet, i just prefer it matches the drapes!

on a more serious note, my notch has replacement carpet and it is not split.. not that it helps you much..

I borrowed my brothers 3500 dually to bring our camper home... It was like there was nothing attached to the bumper. It was a stiff ride to the dealership and a stiff ride back.. Made me want one.. LOL Slight overkill for my needs, but Im sure it works well towing his 48' enclosed car trailer.

An thus ends the first 12 hr workday of the week...only 4 more to go. :BangHead:

I need a beer.
id recommend a nice vodka and juice for the evening. seems to be doing the trick just right for me..

little woman had grilled pork steaks, fried zucchini with onions and peppers from the garden and some corn ready for dinner. even some chocolate cupcakes for dessert.. i must be living right!
