Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Nice day here, front came through so it's a good bit cooler and less humid. Had a couple bloody Mary's and a fat breakfast, drove the Fury around, enjoyed some peace and quiet and sat on the back deck reading and now some evening coffee. One thing about it being busy at work, we have a lot of extra staff and they can not be quiet for half a second.

the next thing i have to do on the engine is hone out the cylinders.

i had an old timer engine builder say to be careful with this step.

he said to dip the hone in oil first. either keep squirting oil in the cylinder and you go up and down or do a few up and downs in the cylinder and take it out and dip in more oil.

either way he said to keep it oiled at any cost. this is because these cylinders are not too bad except one.

Yep, oil is your friend. I'd even go as far as using stp to do it, much thicker

Dang yesterday was Mopars at the Red Barn at the Gilmore Museum near Kalamazoo, that is one show I want to make it to, some pics are posted on FCBO.

Well, IDK if anyone remembers I have been asking Hoppy to save the old ignition parts boxes for me...but I just finished making this wall art out of them...

The scratch-n-dent toolboxes I got had broken emblems on them so I had pulled them off...but there were holes where they were mounted. So I picked up a couple of emblems to cover the holes...

Yea, i don't laugh at old timer engine builders, they built engines when it was an art.

i am sad to see so many retire and disappear. i am glad i got to learn from one or two.
One of the reasons I'm converting the polara back to points

You could just spray the cylinders with brake or carb cleaner... Keep them wet as you hone...

If you spray the hone, then it will flip off when you hit the trigger on the drill and you will get a bath of oil...

If you spray the cylinder, it won't get slung off the drill as it spins... You know that centrifical force thing...

My mother-in-law just sent me a photo of her latest painting. This one is much smaller that the usual stuff she does, it's only about 11"x14". Her regular stuff is generally at least 5 feet wide.
