Question..... I was doing some measuring on the dart yesterday.... the opening for the radiator is only 22.5 inches wide. I'm gonna be running a 26 inch, 4 core radiator to keep the big block cool. My question is, should I try to cut the opening larger by 2 inches on each side?

I would put 3/8 shims between the radiator support and the radiator, this will let air pass , I don't think I would do any cutting for 2"

that was my worry, theres not a lot of metal there to cut even. Radiator is rated to cool 800+ HP. I figured being roughly 55% of that in the 440, plus the high flow water pump, dual fans and I should be able to drive rush hour traffic in LA just fine on a hot day.

Good morning MD ,. cool start to the day here on the hill, 67 degrees

Morning guys. Busy week this week. Family vacation this week and Mopar Nats next week.

No, you don't want to to that, because the air will then go around the radiator instead of through it...

Cut what you can...

If you can go 2" on each side, then go for it, if not cut what you can....

I'm at work.. And drinkin coffee.. Seems I consumed some excessive amber beverages yesterday.. Still a quart low on coffee today.. Yardwork in the heat, Long Island Iced Tea and chili dogs will put the hurt on an old guy!
