Well, the first layer of filler is up. Need to somehow smoothen out a thickness difference of roughly 1/8" btw new patch (thicker) and original drywall.

I hate this. Applying filler is fun but the sanding ...

How on earth did you end up with that many camshafts?!

I went on a buying spree back in 2010-2012 to restock...

How are you doing over there today?

I have a stock of 6-8 cranks polished ready to go, over 12 sets of heads ported/polished with fresh valve jobs, a few spare blocks, mountain of intakes in different "flavors".

So once we get something going, we can mix and match to try to improve, or if we break one, then we can throw another together and get back going.

My limiting factor is rods & pistons. Once I can get a stock of those together I can put some more together.

Dang, you have a project there.

Yeah, the dust from the sanding sucks to breathe and clean... It settles on everything...

My friend is in middle of fixing up a house so he can move in. They just completed the drywall and the painter started a couple of days ago. He's trying to get it ready to move in by November...

Of course there are delays here and there to get through... :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Good Morning all. Just a quick hello and goodbye. I am headed out to get a load of wood.

Use a wet towel or wash cloth. Takes the spackle down as fast as sandpaper and no dust.

Cool Karl. How much do you think the RR is worth ?

He said that it was at an auction in TX recently and didn't sell. Then he saw it posted for $18 k.

It's not the original engine, the original one is a 400, someone threw a 440 in there. I love how the ad states that "correct wheel covers", " correct body stripes", but then doesn't have the "correct engine" or "correct A/C system" that they advertise in the ad.

It also has cloth front seats and vinyl rears... :banghead:

Seems like it has some issues ...... great body style and great year

Too bad it has to be an auto. A pistol grip is what that interior needs with no console

If any of you see anything wrong with it, let me know so we can use that for a bargaining chip...

We're going to look at it later this morning, then he's going to see if they will accept his bid when it goes on the block...

If not, then back to the search...

How fitting that a comment like that comes from our four speed mistress... :glasses7:

Ya gotta love our Rani...

Yes, it does look naked/bare with no console or pistol grip between the bucket seats...

I would whale on the incorrect engine parts as a bargaining chip........ some guys like all that jc whitney explosion under the hood ....... but it's going to be a shiney penny to return all the correct pieces like intake carb .... air cleaner and so on. ...... not to mention missing a/c pieces

Morning all. I'll remember that Karl when I'm looking for a LD4B later. LOL

This seems to have gotten lost at the bottom of the last page...

We got the engine in the kid's 71 Valiant last night. It's just resting on the engine mounts right now, he was too tired to keep going as we got it in just after 11 PM last night and he has to work this morning.

So we'll get the trans mount in and disconnect the engine lift and start dressing it as we get time.

That intake is harder to find than the LD340. I have many more of those than the LD4B.

I sold one of my LD4B's to Steve in Canada, but don't have many spares. I need to keep them around for any 273 or stock 318's that may come along...

I had four of the LD4B's in my house in Detroit before they broke in and stole them (and two LD340's). Sad thing is they were probably sold to the scrap man for crack money.... What a shame and waste of great intakes...

I'm not in any hurry. I'll stumble across one sometime when I'm not looking.

Morning, Tool Man Mike.. Hopefully ,your new ride,is what you expected.. Would like a'71 Road Runner myself, at least make it ,affordable & accurate ( To K.K.,...).. Actually Good Morning, all FABO members...

That's what I said. One thing to remove the A/C, but then to advertise it as having it with no under hood components to show is misleading...

But my uncle is not as concerned about the engine in it, as he plans to do another 440 for it eventually. I did tell him for that money the engine in there should be good to go for a while, not just something thrown in there that may break. What kind of receipts do they have for any engine work that may have been done? How good were the people who built it???

We're going to crawl under it and make sure that the frame and floor boards are solid, and look for any other potential issues...

He decided not to go to the TX auction because of the hassle to get it shipped back, but as things worked out, the new auction is within 20 minutes of his house. If he can't drive it home, then I can help him tow it back with my truck and a u-haul trailer cheaper than a tow truck will do it...

Hey, Good Morning. It's fun being a Swinger! LOL It's enjoyable to drive. Now I have to sell my PT Cruiser to make room for it. Either that or sell my 66 but I would rather keep it for a while.
