Stop in for a cup of coffee

318 was removed from a car i did a big block in.it was a 3 speed manual. Barracuda has no engine, but came with factory auto transmission.
Should have clarified that to start with. My apologies for the confusion.

probably have to pay off whatever that balance was is thing though.
Nobody to pay, the lending institution has been gone for 15 years---------have to dig into it if I decide to proceed.
The car is a bit more of a project than I need and I do have the 40 ford pickup waiting in the wings.
Getting my knees replaced so I'm just circling the airport until that is done-----------:)

lol i hear ya. I'm up to 3 projects myself.

In no order.

78 Powerwagon
74 Dart
64 Polara

And then if you count my the extra parts, I could build a 1950s chevy truck ratrod relatively cheap. but no desire to do that one so the rear half of the truck will continue to be my trash trailer

so you're trying to mount an auto trans to it?

and my dad bought a 80s porsche like that at an auto auction. Bank was gone for decades. He had to have police inspection then a judge sign off ordering the BMV release of the Lein. This was in Indiana though.

Yup. Was looking at pulling pilot, then realized i may have an issue.
ok. been down this road myself. the 451 stroker I built, I used a 440 crank and had it turned down. it ended up being from a manual trans vehicle. The pilot bearing will need to be pulled out. You wont use one for the auto converter. You'll need to get the correct flexplate for the year/model of auto transmission you have. this will properly space the flex plate and the crank end, thus allowing them to go together

Ok,but diameter of torque convertor stub is larger than pilot hole in crankshaft.
Does the stub actually go into crank and by how much? I may pull engine off stand, and set up torque/flex plate and see what i need to do.
This 318 was so nice and clean, ran well so i didnt want to tamper with crank.

Nope. The converter button wont. Thats what the flex plate offset is for.

I am hoping to get sent back home today when I go to work. As we were leaving last evening the boiler blew up! A five alarm fire and to do that you have to reach out 30 miles to get fire companies. Probably no heat!
Damn! hope no one got hurt.

Whilst waiting for replies, i decided to clean block, knock out the freeze plugs and blow out any sediment. Used this.

Fill it with water and charge it up to 100 psi and blow the loose stuff out. Will take side plugs out and see whats left. Not much from what i can see.

water hose wont work?

Firstly,is winter. No running water in shop. And i bought extinguisher yesterday and wanted to try it. And it was successful. I have a water tank i fill with 40 gallons in fall and lasts most of the winter.

I got 2 of them for 25 bucks. I’m happy. Could fill with soapy water to wash things too.
