Yes. Especially late 70s. Our 84 van with a towing package and 4 barre 318 factory had a 904.Wait.
70’s full size vans had 904 transmissions?i was out looking for a correct water pump bolt, the flex plate from the last engine/transmission appears to fit the factory 65 barracuda torque.
So im wondering, should i rebuild the newer one and go with the slip yoke? Im thinking i can modify shifter to work.
Not perfectly,i knew the truck quite well,it was an inline 6 that had a nasty knock long before it got the treatment. Was an annual thing, the year before he drove a beat 86 cougar through a camper trailer.I for one don't like seeing someone to do that to a perfectly running, it seems, engine.
So not an unusual thing. Im really considering the newer 904. Makes my decision easy. Thanks,Chris.Yes. Especially late 70s. Our 84 van with a towing package and 4 barre 318 factory had a 904.
904s behind a 318 90 percent of the time will be just fine. Actually I know a couple guys are running 904s beefed up with just stronger clutches and valve bodies behind high compression 408 strokers in drag cars because they're not only light but rob a little less HPSo not an unusual thing. If the vehicle was 1975 or later, it got the A904 LA with either the 318 or 360 engine. It was a beefed up A904.Wait.
